|John Wayne Gacy was known to his suburban Chicago neighbors as an affable businessman, a party host and a clown named Pogo. But 40 years ago, the search for a missing Chicago-area student led police to his doorstep. The nightmare they found inside revealed Gacy to be one of America’s most notorious serial killers and forever shattered the image of the safe suburban community.|
The Chicago Tribune’s story about six of John Gacy’s victims still being unidentified reminds me of the story brought back by a State Rep. who attended his execution.
From the room where he was killed, there was a flight of stairs down to where the hearse was waiting.
I was told the guards tossed him down steps.
