State Senator has introduced his first bill of the new General Assembly.
House Bill 23 will allow garages to test and issue vehicle emission stickers, a function that is now performed only by official testing stations.
Neither State Senator Don DeWitte nor Craig Wilcox have filed any bills.
I hope this bill goes nowhere.
Currently, emissions testing only exists in a few counties, including part of McHenry County.
If this bill passes, there is no doubt in my mind that the State will compel testing statewide and turn it into a revenue stream.
If you want to throw a bone to the Private Sector, how about some discounts on bribery and Kevlar?
