Here are warm places you could go:

Warming shelters in or near the McHenry County area.

The following locations have been set up as emergency warming shelters. This list will be updated as more locations open:

• McHenry Township: Whispering Hills Community Center, 4708 Jeffrey St., Johnsburg.

• Lake in the Hills: The Safety Education Center, 1109 Crystal Lake Road, is open. People needing it can call the village non-emergency line at 847-658-5676.

• Huntley: The Municipal Complex, 10987 Main St. For after-hours access, use the red phone in the police department vestibule.

• Crystal Lake: Willow Creek Church, 100 S. Main St. (DAYTIME ONLY)

• Woodstock: Family Community Resource Center, 512 Clay St..

• Fox Lake: Police Department front lobby, 301 S. Route 59

• All Metra train stations (Harvard, Woodstock, Crystal Lake, Pingree Road, Cary, Fox River Grove). Hours are limited to Metra operation schedules.
