Unethical Trump Prober Andrew Weissman Eviscerated in New Book

Cover of Sidney Powell’s “Licensed To”Lie”

Just finished “Licensed to Lie” by Sidney Powell.

Written in 2014 and self-published, the book is getting significant coverage now.

The reason is that one of the lead Justice Department miscreants–Andrew Weissman–in the series of Enron cases is now a top assistant to Robert Mueller trying to pin Donald Trump in the so-called Russia probe.

The book is out in a 444-page paperback book.

I read a lot, usually spy, alternative history, adventure and mystery stuff.

The best keep me up really late.

This is the first non-fiction book that did the same.

Besides reading the book, I saw Powell interviewed by Mark Levin on Fox News.

Powell represented the only Merrill Lynch employee in the Nigerian barge part of the Enron prosecution who was not completely exonerated.

But as the book lays out in detail, it was not for her lack of effort or logic.

Readers can tell from the injustice of the James Brown case–fully documented–that how the country’s justice system failed really sticks in her craw.

Weissman, one of the lead Justice Department attorneys in the investigation is now one of the top junk yard dogs now after President Donald Trump.

What he did give me no hope that the Special Prosecutor’s report will be fair.

He put Merrill Lynch employee Jim Brown before a Grand Jury.

Brown told the truth about his understanding of a phone call in which he did not participate.

He nevertheless was indicted and convicted on perjury, obstruction of justice, conspiracy and two counts of fraud.

And the U.S. Attorney knew had lots of documentation not turned over the the defense attorneys to that effect.

As the case went on and on and on, the U.S. Attorney’s Office finally coughed up documents that completely exonerated Brown, but the Circuit Court Judge in the case, Ewing Werlein was either too dense or in the government’s tank to figure it out.

Even though the documented prosecutorial misconduct was immense, the Appellate Court Justices on the case still upheld the two remaining charges, refusing a new trial.

This is an excellent analysis of cover-ups by the Justice Department in the Enron and Senator Ted Stevens cases with the scathing critique of top Trump investigator Andrew Weissman just a side show.

The Houston trial court judge, Ewing Werlein, comes off as a stooge for the U.S. Department of Justice.

His legacy will justifiably be how his is portrayed in “Licensed to Lie.”

This is a book thoughtful attorneys will love.

Much of the text comes from court transcripts, but this book is not boring.

It moves swiftly.

  1. Knowing all that was written the book, the public ‘at large’ still accepts Legislation from the bench.

  2. Did this guy Weissman have a major role in falsely bringing down, destroying, Arthur Anderson Company and the loss therein of thousands of jobs?

Very scary to know that Muller gave Weissman huge authority in the so-called Russia collusion probe.

Also, many on Muller’s staff were contributors to Hillary’s presidential campaign.

    Any bias there?

Heard that Wiessman was responsible for the unjustified huge raid at the house of Roger Stone in FL.

Rather than just asking Roger Stone to come in and be arrested, the feds went to his house with about 20 heavily armed personnel to arrest Roger Stone.

Totally uncalled for and was done as intimidation.

  3. Mueller is a real prize too.

He totally botched the anthrax investigation after 9/11, and the Feds had to cough up $5.8 million for persecuting Steven Hatfill.

  4. Mueller, like the liar Clapper, is the ugly, lying face of the Deep State.

    These men are traitors.

  5. Weissman did indeed have a very large role in the demise of Arthur Anderson.

  6. You can frame the Republican smear campaign anyway you wish but Trump is an asshole and will be remembered as a repugnant stain on American history.

  7. Prosecutorial misconduct has become way too prevalent and Licensed to Lie confirms the Founders’ suspicions of too much centralization of government power.

Yet there is good reason to be suspicious of people willing to take advantage of the judicial system by crooks too.

When the judicial system becomes a political bludgeon there is little hope for real justice.

Interestingly the book was written well before the current issues with the justice department have come to light which makes one wonder if we’re learning from past sins.

  8. Trump is a gutless draft dodging pathological liar and stain on this country’s history

Trump is also a tax cheat
