Six Years for Sexual Assault of a Child

From the McHenry County State’s Attorney:

ROBERT J. LIBRICZ SENTENCED TO SIX YEARS IN THE DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS FOR PREDATORY CRIMINAL SEXUAL ASSAULT OF A CHILD

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that Robert J. Libricz, age 58, pled guilty to the offense of Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault of a Child, a Class X Felony, following a negotiated plea on April 11, 2019 before the Honorable James S. Cowlin.

Libricz was sentenced to six years in the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Between February 1, 1999 and February 28, 1999, the defendant committed an act of sexual penetration against a female minor during a time in which the child was under 13.

Upon release from custody, Libricz will have to register as a lifetime sex offender.

In November of 2018, Libricz was convicted of sexually assaulting a separate victim and later sentenced on February 8, 2019 to the Illinois Department of Corrections.

Due to existing legislation at the time of the offenses, Libricz will serve his six year sentence concurrently with that case.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant State’s Attorneys Victor Escarcida and Sharyl Eisenstein.

The case investigation was led by Sgt. Michelle Asplund of the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department.
