The placement of the helicoptor sound prior to Metallica’s Enter Sandman in the promo reel brings to mind an epic multi band rock concert in which government helicoptors flew over the attendees.
Metallica played Enter Sandman at that Monsters of Rock Moscow concert on September 28, 1991 at the Tushino Air Field.

The placement of the helicoptor sound prior to Metallica’s Enter Sandman in the promo reel brings to mind an epic multi band rock concert in which government helicoptors flew over the attendees.
Metallica played Enter Sandman at that Monsters of Rock Moscow concert on September 28, 1991 at the Tushino Air Field.
The free concert was sponsored by Time Warner to promote rock music in the disintegrating Soviet Union, which was an umbrella government entity over 15 states.
For some historical context, there were many causes and events during the collapse of the Soviet Union including:
April 26, 1986 – A failed test at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant in the Ukraine resulted in a nuclear disaster. Various cover ups ensued, resulting in citizen doubts about, and mistrust in, the government.
1990 – 1991: The three Baltic states in USSR, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia, each take various steps to become independent of the Soviet Union.
August 1991 – Communist Party members opposed to Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev attempted to oust Gorbachev. They failed. This was known as the 1991 Soviet coup.
August – December 1991 – Each state takes various steps to separate itself from the Soviet union, some forming various coalitions.
September 28, 1991 – Monsters of Rock Moscow
December 25, 1991: Mikhail Gorbachev resigns as leader of the Soviet Union. The union ceases to exist the next day.
