Look what commenter Susan found–part of the Cnhicago ordinance relating to reqjuirements of owners of vacant structures:

“REGISTER the vacant building on the Department of Buildings web site. (see below) 

• A registration fee ($300-$600) is required at the time of initial registration. 
• Each registration lasts for 6 months. The registration must be renewed every 6 months until 
deregistered. A $300 fee must be paid for each renewal. 
• Proof of insurance must be provided at the time of registration. 

4. POST a sign in a prominent location on the building, visible from the nearest street. 
• The sign must include the name, address, and telephone number of the current owner (or the agent for the owner) and the vacant building registration number.”

  1. I do not KNOW that these “rules were not followed “.

    But a search of Chicago vacant property website for 1431 N Astor did not show that building registered ss vacant property.

    The assessment according to reports is based upon VACANT and uninhabitable status.

  2. What do these actions by the governor say to all “Hard Working Families” in Illinois who follow the rules and dutifully pay all taxes required?

    Are they chumps for not looking for and finding schemes to avoid paying some taxes?

  4. by Statute, it does not appear that Pritzker was EVER eligible for a ‘rebate’ of 3 YEARS of property taxes for alleged over-assessments due to “destruction of improvements” or “uninhabitable” status.

    The point is that a form must be filed with assessor, and if missed, the Statute is clear that any over-assessment consideration for that year is lost.

    Statute is below, relevant sentence is the very last one.

    (“The owner of property entitled to a Docket No: 07-29108.001-C-1 3 of 7
    diminution of assessed valuation shall, on a form
    prescribed by the assessor, within 90 days after the
    destruction of any improvements(…)
    file with the assessor for the decrease of assessed
    valuation. Upon failure so to do within the 90 day
    period, no diminution of assessed valuation shall be
    attributable to the property.)

    In its entirety, 35 ILCS 200/9-180 states:

    Pro-rata valuations; improvements or removal of
    improvements. The owner of property on January 1 also
    shall be liable, on a proportionate basis, for the
    increased taxes occasioned by the construction of new
    or added buildings, structures or other improvements on
    the property from the date when the occupancy permit
    was issued or from the date the new or added
    improvement was inhabitable and fit for occupancy or
    for intended customary use to December 31 of that year.
    The owner of the improved property shall notify the
    assessor, within 30 days of the issuance of an
    occupancy permit or within 30 days of completion of the
    improvements, on a form prescribed by that official,
    and request that the property be reassessed. The notice
    shall be sent by certified mail, return receipt
    requested and shall include the legal description of
    the property.

    When, during the previous calendar year, any buildings,
    structures or other improvements on the property were
    destroyed and rendered uninhabitable or otherwise unfit
    for occupancy or for customary use by accidental means
    (excluding destruction resulting from the willful
    misconduct of the owner of such property), the owner of
    the property on January 1 shall be entitled, on a
    proportionate basis, to a diminution of assessed
    valuation for such period during which the improvements
    were uninhabitable or unfit for occupancy or for
    customary use. The owner of property entitled to a
    diminution of assessed valuation shall, on a form
    prescribed by the assessor, within 90 days after the
    destruction of any improvements or, in counties with
    less than 3,000,000 inhabitants within 90 days after
    the township or multi-township assessor has mailed the
    application form as required by Section 9-190, file
    with the assessor for the decrease of assessed
    valuation. Upon failure so to do within the 90 day
    period, no diminution of assessed valuation shall be
    attributable to the property.

  5. It is a relevant question to ask: how were there ZERO checks and balances on a single political operator’s(Berrios’? or else, WHO?) ability to cut a $300,000 check to a citizen when by MINIMAL reading of the relevant Statute this payment would appear to be forbidden?

There are many testimonies from people online who believe this man will be Barack Obama who is to be the biblical Antichrist based off dreams they have received. I myself have had strange dreams about him like no other person. So much so that I decided to share this information.

    He came on stage claiming to be a Christian with no affiliation to the Muslim faith…
