With the resignation of McHenry County Coroner Anne Majewski, MD, state law says that the County Board Chairman recommends the replacement.

Jack Franks’ nominee needs to be approved by the McHenry County Board, however.

The Coroner’s Office is responsible for providing the people of McHenry County with a thorough investigation in the event of a death, and ensuring that the facts surrounding the death are as complete as possible.

Investigations may include on-scene investigation, autopsy, photography, toxicology testing, entomological study, notification of next of kin, and analysis of personal, medical and psychiatric history;
