There are all sorts of questions about winners and losers in Jack Franks’ plan to send checks to potential 2020 re-election voters.
One is who can get a check.
It’s those elilgible for Homestead Exemptions, right?
Sounds simple, but not using the January 1st official asessment date when such determinations are made could be complicating the situation.
In any event, McHenry County Treasurer Glenda Miller does not yet have a list of those who are eligible
Just outside Franks’ office, sometime this July:

One can omly hope.
Who’s would be responsible for the production and delivery of said list?
It would seem to me that the Treasurer’s office could easily generate their own list, considering their own website lists the three (3) questions which must be answered affirmatively for a property owner to qualify for the rebate:
1) Did you own residential property in McHenry County on 4-16-2019?
2) Was this property owner-occupied with a homestead exemption on 4-16-2019?
3) Were the 2017 (payable in 2018) taxes on this property paid in full?
In fact, each of the above questions can be answered with publicly-available information. The treasurer’s office should be swimming in lists!
