Reaction to Lauren Underwood’s “Foot- in-Mouth Disease” Comment

Following the 14th congressional district’s new Representative Lauren Underwood much more closely than I is commenter “Former Quigley Supporter:”

Here’s what he has discovered:

Congresswoman Lauren Underwood has begun to minimize the vote against her at House Homeland Security Committee taking down her comments as a “procedural vote”.

The vote by Republicans present, plus 1 Democrat, was 9-7.

She launched her minimization campaign in her interview with Chicago Tonightwhich was taped yesterday and broadcast last night.

The video from the Underwood segment is embedded in the following link:

But wait, there’s more!

The Congressional Leadership Fund has launched a new website:

The masthead of the new site has Underwood’s pic along with pics of Congresswomen Alexandira Ocasio-Cortez and Ilhan Omar.

Her ridiculous behavior on May 22 House Homeland Security Committee is highlighted, among other things we have seen in the past few months.

The new site includes a reply device.

H/T to Chicago 5th Ward Republican Committeeman Matthew Foldi for bringing the new site to my attention via Twitter:

Learn about @LaurenUnderwood’s real record by checking out the new site https://t.co/KFUTfh8OVI #IL14— Matthew Foldi, 5th Ward Committeeman (@5forFoldi) May 29, 2019

And Chicago Tribune columnist Charlie Selle released this column mid-morning on 5/29:

This paragraph stands out:

“She also has the most liberal voting record in the Hous

“She also has run into the same problem other members of her freshmen class have documented: Foot-in-mouth disease.”

As I said in earlier comments, 5/22/2019 could very well be the turning point to expose Congresswoman Lauren Underwood for what she really is.

Additionally, I always said it would be her voting record that would do her in, and all Republicans, no matter whom you support in the primary, need to give a real team effort to win this election in November of 2020.

  1. She’s also too extreme for Cuba, Canada and Angola, which would have jailed her.

Well, maybe not Canada, but Cuba and Angola would!

  2. It’s A-OK if you’re anti-White in Canada, except in Sask.

  3. Ninety percent of Illinois Voters are Pavlov Dogs, who only differ in how they salivate, over their brain dead grievance studies majors.

  4. After inflicting the Country with Obama and Hillary, Illinois needs 15 minutes in the Time Out Corner.

  5. She’s venomous.

    Stay away.

Especially when she hisses and shows her ‘hood’.

  6. She’s an extension for Nancy Pelosi, Barack Obama and the Clintons.

  7. This is what sunshine investigative journalism looks like! Who said my family values, God fearing, pro life, gun clinging, fiscally responsible, color blind, America first, compassionate conservatives are bothered by women of color in positions of power? Quoting American folk hero rush limbaugh: “I’m not saying, I’m just saying…” 523 days…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeoooooowwwwwwwwwwww…

  8. So sad that voters in her district were conned into voting for her. Just because one is a nurse is not an automatic qualification for elected office. Just because one is of a certain race is not an automatic qualification for elected office. Look at the disastrous 8 years of the previous president. This guy got elected with zero qualifications, no accomplishments in life. He could not even make decisions on voting in the Illinois Legislature voting Present well over 100 times.

  9. Does anyone remember Melissa Bean?

In 2 years we can say the same about Lauren Underwood.

  10. Stephen Pokorny, I do remember former Congresswoman Melissa Bean. She served 3 terms in Congress before Joe Walsh defeated her re-election bid in 2010.

Let’s hope we can do better and make Lauren Underwood a 1-termer.

And the first Republican who was unsuccessful at defeating Bean in 2006 was David McSweeney, now state representative in the 52nd district.

May McSweeney’s undoing in 2006 provide all of the Republican candidates insights of what NOT to do in a General Election against a first-term incumbent.

  11. Earlier this morning (May 30), James Marter officially announced he was entering the Republican primary election as a candidate for the 14th district in Congress. He has filed his Form 2 paperwork with the FEC. Here is what he posted on Facebook this morning, with his formal kickoff event taking place in mid-June at the Oswego Prariefest:

    Marter for Congress

After much deliberation and consultation with trusted advisors, friends, and numerous folks in the District, I’m going to stand up and fight to take back the 14th Congressional District of Illinois. I aim to join my freedom loving friend Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) and will become the first Illinois Congressman to be a proud member of the conservative House Freedom Caucus. They are a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them. The Freedom Caucus supports open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans.

I want to ensure our children have an America with Opportunity, Hope, Security, and most importantly LIBERTY, and my grandchildren and yours to grow up with those same things and their Freedom still intact.

Our Nation is UNDER ATTACK from enemies Abroad and from Within!

Former Obama administration bureaucrat and radical socialist Democrat Lauren Underwood won my congressional district’s seat last year using misleading advertisements about her own nursing credentials and lying about my Congressman’s record and positions.

Illinois’ #14 district can be taken back by a real Republican in 2020 with a candidate who backs President Trump, who will go to Washington to fight for the America First Agenda, secure the Border, build the wall, and stop the influx of illegal aliens, fight for trade deals that protect American workers and have fair deals for America, while maintaining our victories on tax relief for your wallet and deliver more.

I will fight for American taxpayers to cut the size and scope of the federal bureaucracy leveraging the President’s momentum moving forward on our goal of cutting Washington D.C. down to size, commonly known as “Draining the Swamp”.

Over the last several years I have invested my time and resources into taking back ILLINOIS for hardworking families. I have many supporters who have backed those efforts and invested in me as well. I have gained much experience traveling around the state to many hundreds of events, through being a candidate for federal office, serving as a precinct committeeman and as Kendall County Republican Chairman, and being part of the Illinois Conservative Union, recently serving as its co-chair. I have worked hard for many conservative candidates and managed the campaigns of candidates including the Republican Team in the Village of Oswego consolidated election of 2019, who just swept all 4 seats with historic record vote totals.

I have been working within and for the Republican party, meeting many great people along the way, learning the importance of election integrity, serving as a poll watcher, attending the 2016 state Republican convention and defending our conservative values in the platform. I’ve been a frequent guest at Republican State Central Committee meetings and supported our team at the Republican day at the Illinois State Fair. Though these things are important for the wealth of experience, it’s the friends and fellow patriots I met that I cherish most.

This week we begin, I filed with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to officially enter the race for the 14th Congressional District.

My wife Jill and I will be Celebrating our 34th Wedding Anniversary this weekend on June 1st, therefore our official campaign kickoff will be during the Oswego PrairieFest June 13-16, 2019, in my hometown of Oswego in the heart of the 14th District under both the old and new maps.

We have raised our three sons and our daughter here these last 20 some years. Three of our four children currently live in the district where we welcomed our first granddaughter last year, she is a “Gem” and growing fast.

Campaigning for any office is quite an undertaking, a campaign for a congressional office is a massive undertaking, and we need volunteers and coordinators throughout the district. I also need your financial support to be successful.

  12. The Congressional Leadership Fund SuperPAC, who first adopted the description of Congresswoman Underwood as “quiet extremism” shared the Chicago Tribune column from yesterday. Here is their release:

LOCALS CATCH ON TO UNHINGED UNDERWOOD
    MAY 30, 2019

The veneer is already starting to come off Congresswoman Underwood’s extremism as local reporters begin catching on to Underwood’s out of touch record.

In case you missed it, the Fake-Nurse-Come-Congresswoman was taken to task in a column this morning for catching “foot-in-mouth disease” after she falsely accused U.S. Border Patrol of “intentionally” murdering children. The column also lays into her for:

Adopting “the most liberal voting record in the House, according to VoteView, a project of UCLA political scientists”

Following “the Democrat playbook” to a tee

And completely abandoning the health care issues she campaigned on

We said it yesterday and we’ll say it again: Lauren Underwood has quietly adopted one of the most extreme records in Congress, and it’s time folks started paying attention.

  13. Accomplishments, hmmm…our mentally unbalanced sexual-assaulter-in-chief tronald dump brags about his businesses accomplishments. The fact is, no major U.S. company has filed for Chapter 11 more than Trump’s casino empire in the last 30 years.
Here’s a look at Trump’s bankruptcy track record. Remember, you need to be a real incompetent to bankrupt a casino business. I’m not saying, I’m just saying.

    1. Trump Taj Mahal, 1991
Trump’s first bankruptcy. To come up with the funds he needed, he sold a 282-foot yacht, as well as the Trump Shuttle, the airline he operated at the time that flew between Washington, D.C., New York and Boston, according to media reports at the time. He had to give up half of his ownership stake in the Trump Taj Mahal, but he did retain control of the property.

    2. Trump Castle Associates, 1992
In less than a year he was back in bankruptcy court for his other Atlantic City casinos. This bankruptcy included the Trump Plaza Hotel in New York, the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City as well as the Trump Castle Casino Resort. He gave up half his interest in the New York Plaza to Citibank, but retained his stake in the casinos.

    3. Trump Hotel & Casino Resorts, 2004
Trump didn’t go back to bankruptcy court again until November 2004, when he filed to shed debt at his various Atlantic City casinos and a riverboat in Indiana. It was another quick trip through bankruptcy court; the company shed $500 million in debt and emerged from bankruptcy the following May. Trump turned over majority control of the company to his bondholders but remained the largest single shareholder, and he once again kept control of the casinos.

    4. Trump Entertainment Resorts, 2009
His most recent bankruptcy came in 2009, after the company missed a $53.1 million bond payment. That was pretty much the end of the road for Trump in Atlantic City. While his name remained on three casinos, he resigned from the board and gave up his remaining stake in the company.

The two Atlantic City casinos that still had the Trump name filed for bankruptcy yet again in 2014. At the time Trump made sure people knew he was no longer running the company, and sued to have his name removed.

In tihs sunshine blog, we praise our con man president and all his accomplishments; 523 more days…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeoooooowwwwwwwwwwww…

Also, the Tribune, through its Aurora Beacon-News subsidiary, has published this article about Marter’s announcement:

  15. ICYMT, articles about Congresswoman Lauren Underwood’s D.C. roommate, Democratic Congresswoman Katie Hill of California:

    From January, and includes Underwood:

From April, and Underwood’s roommate is a “mini” Nancy Pelosi:

    https://www.latimes.com/politics/la-na-pol-katie-hill-nancy-pelosi-favorite-freshman-20190424-story.html

  16. Congresswoman Lauren Underwood is back in McHenry County today, May 31, according to the Northwest Herald She will be at McHenry County College today from 2:30-3:30PM at the Luecht Conference Center, building B, in breakout room B166/B167. Details in the article:

    https://www.nwherald.com/2019/05/30/congresswoman-lauren-underwood-to-host-foster-care-roundtable-friday-in-crystal-lake/axuleku

So for the 2nd time this week, Underwood is back in McHenry County, this time hosting a foster care roundtable. She was at the McHenry VA clinic this past Tuesday.

  17. After her Tuesday McHenry visit and her taping a WTTW Chicago Tonight interview, her congressional Twitter activity was relatively light this week, the official grand opening of her West Chicago district office, and this morning:

In #IL14, infrastructure means more than just roads and bridges, it means rural broadband access in McHenry, improvements to school facilities, and building the Fox River bike path in Batavia. Read more in my latest Medium post. https://t.co/6fu9tjlFrt— Lauren Underwood (@RepUnderwood) May 31, 2019

From the Medium article linked in her Tweet, is this passage related to McHenry County:

“As Congress creates this once-in-a-lifetime, agenda-setting package, ‘infrastructure’ needs to mean all that — roads, rail — and much, much more.

“In McHenry County, ‘infrastructure’ means rural broadband access — including new metrics that better address exactly which areas are still pretty much on dial-up.”

Her political campaign Twitter account tweeted this reminder:

🌈Pride Month is almost here! 🌈I was honored to cast a vote to help the #EqualityAct pass the House this month & validate the humanity of all Americans regardless of gender or sexual orientation—including Seth who was right there on the floor with us! https://t.co/AXtGo5du3p— Lauren Underwood (@LaurenUnderwood) May 30, 2019

And given she will be back in McHenry County on June 9 to speak in Woodstock on the above subject matter, looks like the House’s passage of the Equality Act of 2019 will be part of her speech.

  18. Republican 14th District congressional candidates and their supporters, please pay close attention here.

If someone is at the foster care roundtable at MCC today, please see if Congresswoman Underwood is a bit jet-lagged, because last night (May 30), she was in southern California for a BIG BIG dollar fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), featuring House Speaker Nancy Pelosi:

    https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/01/disneys-alan-horn-hosting-fundraiser-for-pelosi-and-house-democrats.html

Underwood is named as one of the Democrats who was scheduled to be in attendance last night with Speaker Pelosi. Among the other 11 Democrats invited to this high-dollar event were Illinois Congresswoman and DCCC Chair Cheri Bustos, and Underwood roommate, California Congresswoman Katie Hill.

Her scheduled trip last night was the 2nd time in 2 weeks Underwood was out on the West Coast. She gave the commencement address at the Mills College graduation on May 18. The C-SPAN video of the Underwood’s 20 minutes speech can be viewed in the link below:

    https://www.c-span.org/video/?460354-1/representative-lauren-underwood-commencement-speech-mills-college

And she’ll be back in California later this year. She is booked to speak in San Francisco on July 29 during the August recess:

    http://www.welcometomannys.com/e/the-youngest-black-woman-in-congress-congresswoman-lauren-underwood-62376347334

This is very important to Republican hopes of unseating Congresswoman Underwood next year. Last night’s event at the Disney Studios CEO’s home with high-dollar donors is only one of many ways Underwood is mining the high-dollar donor community for her re-election campaign next year. Listen/watch her commencement speech video and see a glimpse of what/how she will be campaigning to win General Election voters in the 14th. Note, the Mills College commencement address is 4 days prior to her now infamous House Homeland Security Committee debacle.

Republicans, she is quite candid about her successful 2018 campaign in the commencement address. Listen to it, and be ready for her. And may the Republicans nominate the best candidate who can beat Underwood in November of 2020.
