LaSalle County Prosecuting Suspicious Overtime at County Auditor’s Office

While McHenry County State’s Attorney Patrick Kenneally has announced that the investigation of Algonquin Township overtime under Township Road Commissioner Bob Miller is kaput, the trial of LaSalle County Auditor Jody Wilkinson was wrapping up.

Wilkinson’s two deputies were found to have received unusual overtime payments after her requests to have their salaries increased were denied by the County Bord.

Now the LaSalle County prosecutor has given immunity from prosecution:

The [LaSalle] News-Tribune reports:

After [Deputy Auditor] Artman took the stand and invoked the Fifth Amendment, assistant state’s attorney George Mueller filed a motion for what’s called use immunity.

That means whatever Artman says from the stand cannot be used against her when her own criminal case (she and Wright are charged with felony theft) comes up.

It also means she can no longer invoke the Fifth Amendment.

At the Milk Day Parade, Kenneally predicted that the Auditor would be acquited.

  1. Our State’s Atty needs to be replaced.

What gets prosecuted in other counties gets a pass here.

    I’m sick of it.

  2. Kenneally reminds me of Colonel Wilhelm Klink …..

    He see’s nothing ! Nothing !
