Second Man Charged in Heroin Fentanyl Death of Heather Crimaldi

From the McHenry Police Department:

McHENRY POLICE CHARGE ADDITIONAL SUBJECT FOR DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE

John R. Birk, Chief of Police of the McHenry Police Department, announced today, a second subject has been criminally charged in connection with the August 31st, 2018 death of Heather Crimaldi.

William Anderson

WILLIAM E. ANDERSON (age 28, DOB: 12/03/1990) of 26181 W. Lakeview Ave., Ingleside, Illinois, was charged on June 6th, 2019, by the McHenry Police Department.

At the time of being charged, Anderson was in custody at the Cook County (IL) Department of Corrections on charges unrelated to this investigation.

This investigation led to charges against Christopher Crimaldi on October 3rd, 2018. The McHenry Police Department, in cooperation with the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, continued the investigation and probable cause was established to show that Anderson unlawfully delivered the drugs that attributed to the victim’s death.

William E. Anderson was charged with:
 7 Counts of DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE (Class X Felonies)
 3 Counts of UNLAWFUL DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (Class 1 Felonies)

Christopher Crimaldi

CHRISTOPHER C. CRIMALDI (age 41, DOB: 11/04/1976) of 1930 N. Orleans St., Unit C, McHenry, Illinois, was charged on 10/03/2018, by the McHenry Police Department.

At the time of being charged, Crimaldi was in custody at the McHenry County Correctional Facility.

On August 31st, 2018, the McHenry Police Department and McHenry Township Fire Protection District responded to rescue call in the 1900 Block of N. Orleans for an unresponsive adult female victim.

First responders performed life saving measures on the victim but without success.

The victim was identified as Heather E. Crimaldi, 45 years old, of Freeport, Illinois.

Autopsy results confirmed that the victim’s death was attributed to the adverse effect of cocaine, heroin and fentanyl.

The McHenry Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division, with the cooperation of the McHenry County Coroner’s Office and the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office, conducted an extensive investigation into this death.

Probable cause was established to show that Christopher Crimaldi unlawfully delivered the drugs that attributed to the victim’s death.

Christopher C. Crimaldi was charged with
 7 Counts of DRUG-INDUCED HOMICIDE (Class X Felonies)
 1 Count of UNLAWFUL DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (Class 1 Felony)
