CL Grade School District Set to Borrow Over $10 Million with $100 Million in Bank

From a Friend of McHenry County Blog:

D-47 to Issue New Debt

According to the D-47 Agenda (6.2) for 6/17, the District will vote on authorizing issuing $10.65 million of new General Obligation Debt Certificates.

Here’s a link to BoardDocs to see some details: https://go.boarddocs.com/il/d47/Board.nsf/Public

There does not seem to be any supporting documents for this agenda item on BoardDocs that provides any details that indicates how this cash is to be spent, debt service payments terms or any explanation as to why they need to borrow $10.65 million when the district will finsh the year with over $100 in Cash and Investments on their books.

  1. I’m guessing it’s for a girls Football Team and Pom-Pom’s for a boys Cheerleading Squad.

  2. I say its past time we stop criticizing them and start embracing them!

It’s not like anyone didn’t know what they do before they elected them term after term…

The board that CL folks wanted is the one CL residents deserve!

    Enjoy!

  3. Maybe they, the board, just aren’t any good at the three Rs?

You know, the old school Reading, Writing and Arithmetic

As Patrick pointed out, I think the comment applies to the voters more than it applies to those who ran for office.
