Turnover in the Algonquin Township Road District

At an Algonquin Township Board meeting two weeks ago, Trustee David Chapman got up during the public comment period to comment on what Algonquin Township Road Commissioner Andrew Gasser had done recently.

Sticking out was that training was complete for the new employees, which Chapman characterized as “a lot.”

Below are the employees and their pay from the last pay period under formed Highway Commissioner Bob Miller and the same information from the first half of June 2019:

As one can see, there has been a lot of turnover.

Brian Doubek is also still an employee. but, during this pay period, he was receiving a Workers’ Compensation check.

  1. Linda

That means the good ol boys aren’t on the payroll anymore.

  2. Should the title not read: Alg. Road District drastically reduces salaries?

Oh! I forgot. That would not fit the ‘Anderson / McSweeney / Franks agenda’.

  3. Dorothy Wildebeer was hired by Gasser.

    Dan Newman retired.

Take Dorothy and Dans wages off and add Brian’s to this years total, and it’s almost the same.

I hear the chainsaw training was a $1k a employee.

Lost of experience is the big draw back, it’s obvious as thinks aren’t getting done and the quality of the work has suffered some.

Saving a few $$$$$ while increasing the risk of someone getting hurt, WELL?
