  1. Remember, this is, above all, a back-the-badge sunshine blog.. Black lives matter! Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwwww…

  2. Don’t we already pay these cops enough?

Now, they want volunteers to do their work, too?

  3. Community involvement is usually a good thing. And, all lives matter, especially those of the defenseless unborn.

  4. The Sheriff’s Dept. would have 3 more deputies if they weren’t ‘loaned out’ for free to the US Marshall’s lame program which takes McHenry deputies out of McHenry Co. 95% of the time (out of state 30%).

There would also be one less death … Keltner case. The ‘federalization’ of County deputy Sheriffs needs to be addressed. Many Ill. counties refuse to be involved with the Marshal’s program, and it’s not just bc they won’t be compensated for the deputies’ loss time to his/her county. Who’s in charge of these deputies? Sheriff can’t recall them. And they aren’t answerable to the County authorities while they are federalized. Huge questions of jurisdiction.

And the alleged ‘good training’ the program gives is belied by the recent death.

Basic LE procedures were not followed in that Deputy Keltner Rockford-venued case. When’s the result of the investigation ever going to be released?

This academy program is also lame on so many levels I don’t know where to begin.

Don’t waste your time on such lunacy.

  5. Low I.Q. Little Joey Blowhard will sign up for this “wanna be a cop” program just
to boost his ego and impress the little children around his neighborhood.
