Female Dies as Result of Friday Evening Accident at Stonegate Countyline Road in Algonquin

Traffic- Pedestrian Crash- County Line Rd. at Stonegate

Countyline Road and Stonegate in Algonquin.

On Friday, July 12, 2019 at 7:18 pm, Algonquin Police Officers responded to a report of a traffic crash at the intersection of County Line Rd. and Stonegate Rd, Algonquin, IL.

As of this time, our investigation has determined that at approximately 7:18 pm. a female subject was crossing County Line Rd. at Stonegate Rd. when she was struck by a vehicle driving west on County Line Rd.

The pedestrian was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in critical condition.

She was later flown to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital where she
later succumbed due to her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle, a 23-year-old male was not injured and showed no signs of from impairment.

He was issued a citation for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a cross-walk.

The east and west bound lanes of County Line Rd. and the north and south bound lanes of Stonegate Rd. were closed for several hours on Friday night for the investigation to take place.

The incident remains under investigation by the Algonquin Police Department, Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
