Underwood in Liberal Land

From Former Quigley Supporter:

Lauren Underwood’s Interview from San Francisco 7/29/19

Last week, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood appeared in San Francisco for a fundraiser and interview in the Mission District in San Francisco.

The podcast of the interview on July 29 was released yesterday.
Per the tweet from Recode/Decode Underwood explains why she cannot formally support an impeachment inquiry.

The link with transcript is below and includes the podcast itself, which is the interview recorded live at Manny’s in San Francisco.

e interview is a little over an hour long and is quite insightful, particularly when it comes to who/what is “toxic” to 14th district voters.

Three of Underwood’s interview excerpts which need addressing:

The sexual misconduct of Denny Hastert was not public until a good 6 1/2 to 7 years after Hastert left Congress, not “Shortly after he steps down,…”.
Hastert was active in the 2008 special election and regular election primary in February of 2008 when he backed Jim Oberweis as his replacement.

Oberweis won both primaries in 2008, and lost both general elections in 2008 to Democrat Bill Foster.

The Republican opponent who filed against Underwood in November of 2018 was Matt Quigley, who had to withdraw from the race in early April.

To date, six Republicans who have declared themselves as candidates for the primary next year and all but one have filed their candidacy with the FEC, and 2-4 are thinking about running in the race.

No Congresswoman Underwood, it has nothing to do with “racism, sexism, -isms” as you suppose it is the reason you have drawn 6 to possibly 10 Republicans to run for the opportunity to compete against you next year.

The truth is, many think Underwood’s election was a fluke, a combination of a terrible re-election campaign by the incumbent last year and Underwood misrepresenting herself as a career nurse treating patients in a private/group practice.

We will know for sure in November of 2020, and given the history of congressional campaigns in Illinois in presidential election years, Underwood is favored to be re-elected, and that is before you take her record into account.

And that assessment is simply being honest, and we’ll see if whomever wins the Republican nomination in March can prove me wrong.

  1. And this Lauren Underwood quote from the San Francisco interview is good for all of us but especially for her colleague, Congressman Sean Casten, with emphasis added by me:

“I do a lot of chats with interns and students, and I’ve spoken to every student nurse in the state of Illinois, and I always tell them, ‘Do not tweet in anger. Do not let that be your outlet, because this stuff lives on forever and there will be consequences for you and there will be consequences for all of us.’ And I think that that’s just an important reminder for folks who are interacting with our political system in a way that yields influence, but folks may not be happy about the direction of our country. It’s very easy to be a boss behind a keyboard, right? And it just has some consequences for folks in other places.”

  2. The Democrat f’wit evoking images of tolerance and inclusion, while concurrently denying certain citizens wearing MAGA hats.

Scary strong juju, that always works on idiot Illinois Voters.

  3. “And that layer of racism, sexism, -isms, is on everything that they, the Republicans, put out.”

    – There’s a sucker born every minute.

The suckers being the low information votes she is attempting to snag.

  4. I’m guessing it will all make more sense to you, if you just don’t think about it.

  5. Translation: I’ll be tossed out of office and back into mommy’s basement so fast if I pull an Al Green that I better just play it cool and act moderate to keep that seat.

  6. Poor fake nurse.

Kvidera, please give her counsel, and some ban roll on.

  7. According to the interview with Underwood, she says that for her district, the impeachment fight “is not addressing the core issues affecting their family, and it feels like more of the same.”

This lady is no better than the rest of the Democrats who have been bitter and vindictive after their miserable candidate, Hillary, lost to Trump.

Elements of the Democrat Obama Administration, without probable cause, started the phony Russia collusion narrative starting with the bogus FISA spying on Trump presidential campaign persons and concluding with the Mueller report.

Yes, there was ineffective and minor Russia interference via internet posts to feebly try to cause friction with Americans during the election campaign.

There was no collusion, no obstruction.

Mueller emphatically stated that he was never obstructed from running his investigation.

Underwood could stand out as an independent Democrat from Democrat bosses Pelosi and Schumer by stating that the impeachment efforts by some Democrats is wrong and she will not be a part of it.

THAT would gain her a lot of respect from Americans other than hard-core base Democrats.

  8. I guess something that is missing here is we saw Underwood’s quote in the tweet from Recode/Decode and we think to what Congressman Sean Casten did in late June by formally supporting the impeachment inquiry, and we ask ourselves, in the words of Congresswoman Underwood, did Congressman Casten do a “power grab”, in the words of Congresswoman Underwood?

And why Ives’ or Sanguinetti’s respective campaigns haven’t pointed that out about Casten casts some real doubt on BOTH of those campaigns.

  9. Former Quigly is RIGHT ON!

But everybody white is Afraid to be called a racist.

That’s why nothing is said to counter the idiocy.
