Boat Driving Certification for Youth

Sheriff’s Office Hosts Free Boating Safety Certification Class

The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting a free Boating Safety Certification Class in Woodstock.

After successfully passing this class, attendees will receive an Illinois Department of Natural Resources Boating Safety Certificate.

Illinois Boating Laws state that a Boating Safety Certificate is required for all boaters born on or after January 1st, 1998, and who will be operating a vessel powered by a motor of more than 10 HP.

The classes will be held at the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office located at 2200 N. Seminary Avenue in Woodstock on Saturday, August 31, 2019, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Anyone ages 11- years-old and older can sign up for this FREE course by contacting Cathy Hardt at 815-334-4739

    That’s not what Sheriffs are supposed to do.

    What’s next, an Old Folks’ Home or ESL Language Ctr run by the Sheriff’s Office.
