  1. Three cheers for the alleged “pro-lifers” who indulge in eating a slaughtered pig.

I hope this crowd that values life and living take a stand against gun violence and advocate for protecting life.

Otherwise, they’re all hypocrites, lathered up in BBQ sauce.

  2. There’s a lot of debate about that question, David.

Historically, there has been a distinction between murder (as forbidden in the Bible) and killing in war or using the death penalty, however, the Catholic Church no longer supports the death penalty.

The Prohibition Party, which is socially conservative, is pro-life and against the death penalty and there are 7th Day Adventists who are vegetarian and presumably pro-life.

It certainly seems more consistent to be against the death penalty than for it if you are pro-life, but I think the bigger issue to people who are pro-life is probably the ~million babies aborted each year, not executing a few inmates convicted of bombing government buildings, triple homicides, and baby rapes.

Likewise, I don’t think anyone who eats pork or supports the death penalty is going to have some lightbulb moment where they realize to be logically consistent they have to support abortion.

It’s more likely that they’ll stop supporting the death penalty or stop eating meat, in which case they’ll still be pro-life and dentbla will still be complaining!

The anger against this group from the same people would persist even if they were eating fruit salad or veggie kebabs.

It has nothing to do with eating pork or being hypocrites.

It has to do with they oppose abortion.
