Thanking Rod Blagojevich

Just finished David Baldacci’s “Saving Faith,” reprinted from 1999 and available at Sam’s Club.

(Now that Barnes and Noble has closed its Crystal Lake store, my selections are limited to Sam’s and resale shops unless I want to drive to Dundee.)

In any event, the book is heavy on lobbying in Washington and in its acknowledgements is the following:

To Congressman Rod Blagojevich (D. Ill) for allowing me a glimpse into the life of a member of Congress.

We remember something more recent, of course:

Would soon-to-be impeached Governor Rod Blagojevich have journeyed to Springfield to speak to the State Senate, if he knew he would have drive back to Chicago. Legislative leaders and their friends get a similar perk.

  1. Blagojevic, deserves to remain in prison for the rest of his life.

He did the crimes he deserves to do the time.

Further, Blagojevic’s crimes had an impact on every single person living in Illinois.

  2. How about visiting your local library Cal?

Didn’t Rauner take the use of state owned planes away from Madigan?

  3. I made that suggestion to him at the Nunda Township Republican Party candidates’ night, but I don’t think he followed Florida Governor Rick Scott’s exampple.

  4. Blago wasn’t that bad. He spilled a lot of beans about Obama and the Deep State that hid Obama’s sexual preferences (just like the Deep State did with ex-Speaker Hastert and many, many others to keep them in line).

And for that Blago was selectively prosecuted.

Yes Blago was a crook. Far worse ones (Obama, Clintons, Emmanuel, Gates, Bushs, etc., ) remain at large.

  5. Try “Read Between the Lynes” in Woodstock for your reading matter Cal.
