“All the News that Fits, We Print”

That should be the new motto of the New York Times in view of the following found in today’s Chicago Tribune:

I’d link to the story, but, when I search for “Kavanaugh, New York Times,”the story does not appear.

Neither can I find the page 8 story by scrolling down today’s stories on the Tribune web site.

Maybe a reader can find a link.

  1. Now, they’ll pretend they did nothing wrong and give each other Pulitzer trophies.

  2. It is a shame that the questionable decisions at the NYT allowed some to focus their attention on making the NYT the story.

The focus should be FBI “investigation” and what the WH did to limit their investigation.

Not a great tweet from the NYT (referenced in the headline): ““Having a penis thrust in your face at a drunken dorm party may seem like harmless fun. But when Brett Kavanaugh did it to her, Deborah Ramirez says, it confirmed that she didn’t belong at Yale University in the first place.”

    He was a horrible choice.

    He lied before Congress.

He didn’t show the temperament to serve as a justice on the SCOTUS.

    This fallout is entirely predictable.

  3. In 1932 Walter Duranty received a Pulitzer Prize for a series of reports about the Soviet Union, eleven of which were published in June 1931.

He was criticized for his subsequent denial of widespread famine (1932–1933) in the USSR, most particularly the famine in Ukraine.

Years later, there were calls to revoke his Pulitzer.

In 1990, The New York Times, which submitted his works for the prize in 1932, wrote that his later articles denying the famine constituted “some of the worst reporting to appear in this newspaper.”

  4. Trisha G on –

I find it humorous that I’ve been linked to Franks over and over and over on this site.

It’s funny because I typically only comment on national political stories/IL-14 stories.

Sometimes I might comment about a state wide issue but it’s not too often, if ever.

I don’t think I’ve ever commented on Jack Franks or ANY county specific issues.

Reason: Truth be told, I could give 2 sh*ts about Jack Franks!

Jack Franks is SUCH the boogieman for so many people on this site….. BOO!

  5. No. I expect stories printed in the Chicago Tribune to be on the Chicago Tribune web site.

  6. Pro tip #1: When you read a printed story in the Trib and it has an (AP) after the name of the city….. it’s an Associated Press story.

Pro tip #2: When you type a headline into the google box, you can usually find the link to the story.

    You’re welcome!

  7. If we did not have a President who has the balls to continually challenge the MSM, Kavanaugh would not be on the Supreme Court and the Times would never have corrected the most recent story about an event that the supposed victim does not remember.

Trump’s relentless posting relative to what is wrong with the MSM is starting to have results.

I may not always agree with Trump’s methods and / or words but can you imagine how quickly a W. Bush would roll over and expose his belly like a beat dog?

Elected Democrats have the luxury of total backup by the MSM while some elected Republicans don’t even have the backup of other Republicans.

Thank God we have Trump as a President and not someone like anyone of the Republican McHenry County Board members who do not have the spine to ‘stare down’ the liar in chief and DEMAND he appoint a new Coroner!

  8. Reconsidering yet that I might be prophetic, Cal? When they are interfering with your ability to even chase the Salem Witch trials, you know that I was right. Ask your tech about this snafu. (hint. He’s working with them, minion that he is.)

  9. Thanks. It did not come up on the Tribune’s internal search engine.

  10. The Democrats, led by Schumer and Feinstein, tried to sabotage the nomination of Kavanaugh. Their witness, the professor lady, had no evidence of the charges placed against Kavanaugh. The witnesses she named did not corroborate her story.

But, the Democrats are still angry about their horrible candidate, the thug Hillary, not winning the 2016 election. They have done a number of things to get even or destroy Trump, including their execution of the “insurance policy” conceived before the election. That was the Russia Collusion Hoax and the subsequent witch hunt by Mueller. Until there is a vast reordering of leadership and membership of the Democrat Party, no American should ever trust a Democrat politician.

  11. For all of Oh’s righteous indignation claiming expertise in their Google abilities, you have yet to produce a link to the actual original NYT’s article requested.

I’d call that a pathetic attempt at ridicule.

It’s no surprise that the NYT has removed their latest blunder from their search results.

Cal, here is the link to the original article including the editor’s note added on the 15th.

I know it’s the correct link because it was copied, and saved on 9/15/19.

  12. “Liberal Jew”

“iSawWhatYouDid on” posting anti-sematic messages on here is par for course on this website. Classy company you keep, Cal.

  13. Too bad, but not unexpected, that the mostly left wing media did not heavily criticize Justice Sodamayor when in 2001 she made a racist type statement against white men as follows:

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman, with the richness of her experiences, would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”

  14. Oh – is it liberal or Jew you object to. Neither of which are derogatory in it self. So why is putting them together derogatory.
