Huntley School District Going Solar

From the Huntley School District Board President Michael J. Fleck:

Solar Power Project

Micheal J. Fleck

We are excited to announce a new initiative to increase our environmental sustainability, lower our energy costs, and provide a learning laboratory for our students.

The Board of Education recently approved a general terms agreement with ForeFront Power, a leading renewable energy company based in San Francisco, to construct solar power installations on each of our three campuses.

The net results of these three installations include the offsetting of 12.3 million pounds of carbon emissions annually, totaling at least $4.2 million in energy savings over the next 20 years.

In addition, ForeFront will provide each of our schools with kiosks for real-time monitoring of energy production and educational materials that will help integrate solar power technology into the school curriculum.

  1. Sooooo, clouds and hail stones don’t matter? “Stupid is as stupid does”……..Forrest Gump.

  2. How about providing more numbers. Such as cost of installation and yearly maintenance costs. Also, recent yearly energy costs and percent of energy anticipated to be provided by solar vs percent to be provided by traditional sources such as Com Ed.

  3. All of these solar installations at Latitude 42.16, which Huntley is located, is simply a bad joke.

  4. My environmental contribution to save the world and reduce emissions.

Was to buy a Komodo Dragon to eat Amazon Delivery and Mail Carriers.

  5. All the hardcore greenies who are so bullish on solar energy and electric cars should read up on the environmental damage caused by the large scale mining of the lithium that is used for the batteries.

I fully expect the environmentalists to turn against the industry within ten years.

Environmentalists are simply unable to be happy if they don’t have something to complain about.

  6. I heard the Sun is fake. To make things worst, has anybody seen the sun shining at night? Thankfully, there is this sunshine blog, which brightens the minds and spirits of the good McHenry County citizenry. Sunshine blogger, could you do further research on this alarming story? Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwwww…

  7. Compassionate conservatives, please answer my question. This is not a conspiracy theory. Why is it that the sun refuses to shine at night? I’m not asking. I’m just asking. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock…

  8. Angel Cake, you and the idiot Fleck, a Hillary supporter last time, can sun yourselves back to hell.

  9. I was told by family-values, God-fearing, gun-clinging, compassionate conservatives, they cared very much about saving hard earned tax dollars; but the moment School District 158 announces a plan to save millions of hard-earned tax dollars, pro-transparency, pro-accountability republikkklans go berzerk anyway. In this sunshine blog, the entertainment never ends. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeeoooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…
