Marter, Republican candidate for Congress, attending Trump Chicago event today

From the Marter for Congress Campaign:

OSWEGO, Ill., October 28, 2019 – James “Jim” Marter, a software business consultant and prominent Kendall County Republican in the race for Congress for the 14th Congressional district, is attending President Donald J. Trump’s fundraising event today in Chicago, Ill. with a few other Trump supporting constituents in the district.

Marter posted this morning on Facebook a picture with two other un-named constituents of the 14th district headed to the Trump event in Chicago.

From Marter for Congress

“Early to rise today, on my way to Chicago to see and support President Trump! This is my third visit with the President, May in New Orleans, July in Milwaukee, and today in Chicago.

“There is only one candidate in the race who not only has supported the President since he was our nominee but ever since. And only one candidate who has directly supported the President’s 2020 election campaign!

“None of the wealthy and well-to-do candidates in the 14th District primary have stepped up to support our Republican President with even a single dollar $. They won’t talk about President Trump in a positive way and in fact deride him personally, but say they support his policies.

“We do not need a nominee for Congress who has not been backing the President all the way!”

Marter believes freshman Democrat Congresswoman Rep. Lauren Underwood is aligned with the radical and irrational left wing “freshmen squad members” in the House of Representatives and she is siding with them to push for impeachment of President Trump based on zero crimes committed.

Trump won Kendall County with Marter as the Republican chairman in 2016.

“It is now crystal clear to the constituents of the Illinois 14th district that Rep. Lauren Underwood’s agenda caters directly to the radical and irrational democrats in her caucus who continue to push for an impeachment circus led by Rep. Jerry Nadler and pushed forth by the radical freshman surrogates known as the squad.

“Rep. Underwood has been in Congress under a year now, and she has taken the baton from Rep. Nadler to push the impeachment stupidity of a duly-elected Republican President who has committed no crimes.

“Rep. Underwood blatantly ignores the fact that the witch hunt against the President was based on a fake Russian dossier paid for by Hillary Clinton.

“Based on the mounting proof of evidence coming out through Freedom of Information Act Requests (FOIA) by Judicial Watch, well-informed people in the district know very well the whole witch hunt was nothing but a political hit job, as also confirmed by the exhaustive and expensive Special Counsel Robert Mueller investigation that found no Russian collusion after two-years.

“The folks in our district know that Rep. Underwood and her radical democrats were pushing to impeach the president based on collusion initially, which is now dead since the Mueller report confirmed there was no collusion with Russia.

“So now Underwood and her party are focused on trying to impeach the president based on obstruction of a sham investigation that found him guilty of no crime.

“This is how Rep. Underwood is serving the people in our district, serving her party politics of lies and not the issues of the district.”

James Marter in his statement
.

Marter filed May 25 with the Federal Election Commission to run in the March 2020 Republican primary for Congress representing the Illinois 14th district.

Since launching his campaign, Marter pledged to support Term Limits and publicly declared his intent to join the conservative House Freedom Caucus to be a voice to countless Americans who feel that Washington does not represent them.

The Freedom Caucus supports open, accountable and limited government, the Constitution and the rule of law, and policies that promote the liberty, safety and prosperity of all Americans.

McHenry County Blog Note: 14th district Republican candidate Jim Oberweis confirmed through the Daily Herald he is not attending the Trump events in Chicago today.

IL-14: James Marter Attending President Trump Event in Chicago *UPDATE* Video from Monday — 30 Comments

  1. Congress is (supposed to be, at least) a co-equal branch of government.

    His statement is shameful.

  2. I am sometimes left agape at the self-destructive stupidity of candidates.

Is there any worse look than three pretentious entitled jackasses in a limo?

  3. I wonder how many of those Truly’s in the left side of the picture Marter is going to drink before this thing.

  4. Do Tell Him there are still a few of us left here that are not all batsh*T Crazy!

  5. @Oh So after sitting around for a year in the House of Representatives why haven’t Pelosi or the Dems forcing her to bring USMCA forward to be voted on?

Another “Sham” investigation is correct and a secret one at that!

Can’t wait til the Socialist Party is voted out of the House again!

  6. Who’s the guy with the sun glasses?

I thought Luca Brazzi slept with the fishes.

  7. @Oh Again yes they are finally getting pressured to do it but sitting on it for a year is a joke and you know it!

So where is the Impeachment for Russian Collusion?

Waste of time and taxpayer dollars don’t you think!?

  8. How could it be a waste of money since the investigation turned a profit with all the asset forfeitures? That’s right. You live in a bubble and aren’t aware of that fact.

It wasn’t a waste of time either. It gave a comprehensive view into Russian interference into our election. Still to this very day Trump is trying to absolve Russia of election interference. So I think it’s important that we have this account of what happened and Russia’s role, especially in light of Trump’s persistence to want to absolve Russia of any wrongdoing.

  9. Who could better represent the working class in Congress than an elitist riding a limousine? I am seriously reconsidering my endorsement to our McHenry County cow milker. What a dilemma! Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeeoooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww…

  10. Now imagine Honorable Congresswoman and accomplished nurse Lauren Underwood showing off while riding on a limousine. Now imagine the outrage from compassionate conservative republikkklans for such an insensitive and grotesque picture from someone supposedly committed to public service; except that it is Ok coming from a wealthy republikkklan. This is what makes this sunshine blog so entertaining. Stay tuned…tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, tic, tock, meeeeeeeeoooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwww…

  11. The election of Trump took place on Nov 8, 2016. There never has been any evidence that the Russians changed the votes/ballots anywhere in the U.S. Thus, the Russians did not interfere in the “election”.

  12. Imagine having an IQ so low that you think the Russians had to change votes in order to interfere and influence an election.

  13. Oh is the low IQ dope here. The Russians’ tiny, tiny amount of social media messages absolutely paled in comparison to the ongoing and relentless daily bias and favoritism by the mostly left wing media in their support for Hillary. If anybody was able to influence voters to any extent, it was certainly the mostly left wing media.

The media bias has continued to this day with regard to their anti-Trump coverage in their support of Democrats’ agenda to oust Trump since Jan 20, 2017. The low information and useful idiots voted for Hillary and continue their support for Democrats in DC such as Pelosi and Schiff and locally for Democrats in Illinois who over decades have destroyed the State fiscally.

  14. The Russians social media disinformation fake news campaign was one aspect. By no metric would it be considered tiny. The Russians also hacked the DNC servers and emails were given to WikiLeaks. Trump mentioned Wikileaks ***137 verified times in the last month of the campaign***** Let that sink in. Think about it. Ponder it. And don’t respond to anything until you have some explanation about why Trump thought WikiLeaks was so important he mentioned it 137 verified times in the last 30 days of the campaign.

Clearly Trump found this to be important to mention it over and over and over every single day. If you don’t think campaigns matter, yeah Wikileaks played no role. Wait… hold on… that’s right… you don’t believe the Russians hacked the DNC because Trump stands with Putin and against the intelligence community. Trump is TOO THIS VERY DAY STILL trying to case doubt on Russia’s role in hacking the DNC. Hence, the mess he finds himself in now with conspiracy theories about Crowdstrike and the Ukrainian government hiding servers. JFC you people are so dense.

  15. Correcting, I think one of us is misreading the Daily Herald article.

I read the Skillicorn reference that he fully supports President Trump.

I came away that Skillicorn like all Republican IL General Assembly members would be in Springfield at the Veto session.

I read the article again and that is still what I come away with, and Skillicorn’s Twitter page would confirm he was in Springfield and not Chicago yesterday.

  16. Yeah, I misread it. I thought that’s what Skillicorn meant when it said he was “all in.”

I thought they were trying to create juxtaposition between Skillicorn going to the event and the other people not going, but I guess the contrast was supposed to be between other GOP politicians being occasionally critical of Trump and Skillicorn who … isn’t at all critical of Trump?

  17. I’m guessing the best recent evidence is Jim Oberweis’ 12-page mailer I wrote about in a different article.

In the past, I’ve seen Oberweis giving President Trump his props, particularly on the economy and Tax Cuts.

That was why I was mystified by President Trump not being mentioned even once in the mailer.

Nancy Pelosi was mentioned multiple times.

    But not the President.

    Another example, is Ted Gradel.

On his website, he makes it clear he wants the TCJA to be permanent, referring to it as “last year’s tax cuts”, but no mention of President Trump.

Marter has a point when he questions some of the candidates on support for President Trump policies.

Then other candidates, like Catalina Lauf, do not back away from the President, and her messaging is one of “unapologetic love for our country” which in the article with the Simon Sinek video, is a “why” message that for the moment is working for Lauf.

And given President Trump was not mentioned anywhere in the Oberweis’ mailing, that includes Allen Skillicorn’s endorsement letter, too.

Like I said in the other article, whoever wins the 14th district primary, they will be renamed TRUMP-[NOMINEE’S NAME] and hopefully, he/she will be ready for that.

  18. DALA – I just reread your three posts.

Lots of great information to digest. Thank you for your insightful informative contributions to this discussion.

  20. Marter has less than $5,000 in his campaign account and over $50,000 in debt but it looks like he is riding in a stretch limo.
