Crystal Lake Police Investigate Single Vehicle Crash at Living Waters Lutheran Church
Crystal Lake, IL – On October 31st, 2019, at approximately 12:18 AM, Crystal Lake Police and Fire Rescue crews responded to a report of a vehicle that had driven into the Living Waters Lutheran Church, 1808 Miller Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a silver 2007 Lexus had left the roadway and struck an exterior brick wall of the church, causing significant damage to both the building and the vehicle.
The church was unoccupied at the time of the traffic crash.
A witness on scene stated the driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, had walked away from the scene of the crash prior to police arrival.
Approximately 30 minutes later, officers located the suspected driver on-foot in the 1600 block of Autumncrest Dr, Crystal Lake.
He was uninjured and refused treatment.
As a result of the traffic crash investigation, Daniel A Lang (41) of Lake in the Hills, was arrested for:
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol
o 625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2) a class A Misdemeanor
Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol-B.A.C Over .08
o 625 ILCS 5/11-501(a)(2) a class A Misdemeanor
Failure to Give Information after Striking Unattended Vehicle/Property.
o 625 ILCS 5/11-404 a class A Misdemeanor
Lang was also issued traffic citations for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid a Traffic Crash and Disobeying a Stop Sign.
Lang posted the required bond and was released from police custody.
He was seeking God in a drunken funk.
