Notable events in McHenry County 2016 elections: Democrat Jeffery Lichte, a supporter of Jack Franks, ran as a Republican in the March 15, 2016 primary for 63rd District State Representative opposing Steve Reick (Mr. Reick won);-

Jack Franks was an elected State Representative from January 1999 through January 11, 2017 and the voter elected Chairman of the McHenry County Board since December 5, 2016.

From December 5, 2016 through January 11, 2017 he was concurrently a 63rd District State Representative and McHenry County Board chair.

Mr. Franks is currently receiving a government pension (for 18 years as a state representative) and government salary (as County Board Chair).

Mr. Franks is involved in numerous business ventures including law (Franks Gerkin McKenna, real estate (777 LLC), banking (State Bank Group), and hotel management (Bricton Group), per his Statement of Economic Interests (SEI) filing with McHenry County.

In addition to that he is pursuing solar farming.
