Criminal Complaint Filed Against Senate Candidate Mark Curran Over Incident with Senate Opponent William Kelly
At the November 2nd endorsement session of the executive committee of the Lake County Republican Party, an incident between U.S. Senate candidate and former Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran and U.S. Senate candidate William J. Kelly took place.
And it was caught on video.
It was posted last week on YouTube:
Lake County State’s Attorney Mike Nerheim has opted out of any formal action against Curran citing a conflict, and a special prosecutor will need to be appointed through the Illinois Appellate Prosecutor’s Office.
According to a post on the Dundee Township Republican Organization’s Facebook page, Mr. Kelly filed his papers with the Federal Election Commission today, which will make him the 10th declared candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.
How many candidates actually file by December 2 and stay on the ballot remains to be seen.
If there is any kind of candidates’ forum, it will be interesting to see these two men on stage together.

Curran showed a complete lack of maturity for allowing himself to be provoked that easily, and Kelly outed himself as a thin skinned drama queen for filing a criminal complaint over such a trivial matter.
Surely, at least one of the other eight Republican candidates is better than those two.
