Crystal Lake Police Arrest Offender in Stabbing Incident

Crystal Lake, IL – At approximately 7:26 am, the Crystal Lake Police Department responded to the 500 block of Devonshire Lane for a report of a male subject acting abnormal and armed with a knife.

Once on scene officers located a 30 year old male victim suffering from a single stab wound to the chest.

Crystal Lake Fire Rescue responded and provided emergency medical care to the victim.

The male victim was transported by ambulance to an area hospital for further treatment.

Hospital staff described the injury as superficial and not life threatening.

The offender, a 23 year old male from Crystal Lake, was taken into custody at the scene.

This incident is a result of a domestic situation.

There is no danger to the public.

As a result of the investigation, David Lepey (Crystal Lake, IL) was charged with:

• 1 count of Domestic Battery
  o 720 ILCS 5/12-3.2(a)(1), a class A misdemeanor
• 1 count of Aggravated Battery
  o 720 ILCS 5/12-03.05(F)(1), a class 3 felony

Lepey was transported to McHenry County Jail to await a bond hearing. No further information is available at this time.

This case remains an active investigation.
