Did Unionization of Algonquin Township Road District Lead to County’s Not Asking for Help If Local 150 Went on Strike?

Word on the street is that the McHenry County Department of Transportation asked Township Road Commissioners to plow County roads, if Local 150 of the Operating Engineers went on strike.

The County Board approved a new highway department contract at its meeting earlier this week with no discussion.

It appears that a strike possibililty was in play.

There was an exception to the requests for snow plowing assistance, however.

Algonquin Township Road Commissioner Andrew Gasser was not asked for assistance.

Could the cause of this omission be the fact that the same union that represents County highway workers represents Algonquin Township?

As some folks would say, “Just asking?”

  1. “Could the cause of this omission be the fact that the same union that represents County highway workers represents Algonquin Township?

As some folks would say, “Just asking?”

Not even in a alternate universe spun off the Twilight Zone would this question be asked.

Local 150 of Operating Engineers walks out of the county highway department on strike.

No union member of ANY local will cross the line to replace the striking workers.

Have you started in early with the recreational marijuana?

  2. How was the county so stupid as to have a contract with the snow plow drivers be up at the start of winter.

There should be a no strike clause at least till the end of April .

  3. Another factor that should be considered is dealing with Gasser in anyway, even selling him salt, could end you up in court.
The Dude is suit crazy, he likes being a hero for the whacko right, even if it wastes $750k in tax $$$$$s.
