Sheriff’s Office Investigates a Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash
A 21-year-old Barrington man has died as the result of a single vehicle crash that occurred late Thursday evening on Rawson Bridge Road east of Brittany Drive, in Oakwood Hills.
On November 28, 2019 at 10:21 p.m., the Oakwood Hills Police Department located a single vehicle crash involving a 2013 Land Rover LR4 on Rawson Bridge Road.
The McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, Cary Police Department, and the Cary Fire/Rescue District also responded to assist.
On-scene investigation indicated that the Land Rover had been traveling eastbound on Rawson Bridge Road.
For unknown reasons the Land Rover crossed over the westbound lane of travel and exited the roadway to the north striking a tree.
The driver, and only occupant, of the Land Rover was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
The driver was seat belted at the time of the crash and airbags deployed.
The investigation continues by the McHenry County Sheriff’s Office Major
Land Rovers are some of the sturdiest cars made for the public.
People survive terrible crashes in ’em.
And Rhino charges, for that matter.
I saw the picture in the NWH.
A high-speed head-on with a big tree is still no match for a LR.
This old coot was doin’ over 100 (MPH not KmPH) when he flipped his without so much as a scratch:
