Lauren Underwood Named to TIME 100 Next List & Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40 on Same Day
Earlier this month on the same day, Congresswoman Lauren Underwood was named to two exclusive media lists, the TIME 100 Next List and the Crain’s Chicago Business 40 Under 40.
In Twitter land, the local leftist community like Indivisible is positively giddy, with some members even calling her the next “junior Senator” (I think Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi (D, IL-08) and his over $6 million war chest will have a lot to say about that).
Wouldn’t even be surprised if people start talking up Underwood to be AOC’s running mate when she runs for the presidency in 2024.
In spite of all of this glowing news about Underwood that’s been coming out this month, including a write-up in a blog-newspaper Courier Newsroom (no relation to the old Elgin Courier-News now owned by the Chicago Tribune), I was reminded in my prayers that God is still in control, and all of this is happening to glorify Him.
Because a year from now, Underwood in spite of all of these platitudes will be a lame duck after 14th district voters flip this seat next November.
Flipping the 14th district will not be easy, and it will not be cheap. Frankly, it will take an act of God to beat Underwood, but God has proven conventional (worldly) wisdom wrong.
Donald J. Trump is the President of the United States, and by the grace of God, reelection to a 2nd term will take place next November, God willing.
The question, which of the 7 candidates will be the instrument to bring glory to God? That is something Republican primary voters will have to pray to determine out of the 7 candidates, whom they should nominate in March.
So who will it be?
Given it’s November 30, this is a reminder the 4th quarter fundraising deadline is December 31.
If you have a preference among the 7 Republican candidates in the 14th, just over a month remains to contribute financially to the candidate of your choice.
And if you’re maxed out, get some friends to donate.
But if one is undecided, and I’d venture a guess that most 14th district Republican primary voters are undecided, over the next 3 1/2 months, voters be discerning and choose wisely.
And yes, pray for direction and guidance from Above.
