IL-14: James Marter First TV Commercial Airs and Fundraiser Tomorrow Night

James Marter

Really thought Marter was already on TV for the first 5 seconds of this commercial viewed while watching ABC News tonight

For those who may be a little too young, the commercial is a parody/homage to the 1960s TV comedy show Get Smart, which was a spoof on the James Bond movies (first 3 movies out when TV show premiered), and taking an Our Man Flynt approach to spies.

For example, note the use of a VW Karmann Ghia instead of the Aston Martin used in most Bond films (seasons 3 & 4).

Speaking of social media, James Marter’s Twitter following is now at 1,424, which he grew from 176 followers in the past week. That represents growth of 7x in his Twitter followers than he had a week ago.

And finally, here’s a reminder about Marter’s fundraiser tomorrow night in St. Charles:

  1. You they use the Karmann Ghia because VW was the sponsor those years, no longer Chrysler for the Sunbeam Tiger which was also in Bond film.

Get Smart opening credits that is.
