7 Years for Heroin Dealer Whose Customer Overdosed

KANE KELLETT SENTENCED TO SEVEN YEARS IN THE ILLINOIS DEPARTMENT OF CORRECTIONS OR DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Patrick D. Kenneally, McHenry County State’s Attorney, announces that 34-year-old Kane E. Kellett of Crystal Lake, Illinois, pled guilty to Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Heroin), a Class 2 felony, before the Honorable Michael Coppedge.

On March 5, 2019, Kellett delivered a bag containing heroin and fentanyl to a female in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

The female later overdosed on the substances that Kellett delivered to her.

The investigation was led by Detective Eitel of the Crystal Lake Police Department and was prosecuted by Brette Dunbar of the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office.
