Club for Growth Endorses Jeanne Ives

Washington, D.C. – Club for Growth PAC announced the endorsement of Jeanne Ives for Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, and Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh issued the following statement.

“Besides being a West Point graduate, a United States Army officer, a small businesswoman, and a mom of five, Jeanne Ives is a proven limited-government conservative,” said Club for Growth PAC President David McIntosh.

“Ives racked up one of the most conservative records in the Illinois state legislature, and she’s the kind of person who will stand up for principle to the Establishment of both parties in Washington — just like she has in Illinois.”

In a statement released Tuesday morning, Jeanne Ives expressed her reaction to the endorsement:

“I am honored to have earned the esteemed endorsement of Club for Growth, an organization that is deeply committed to limiting the size of government and advancing pro-growth economic policies.

“As the next representative for the 6th District, I will put my experience working with both parties – as well as standing up to powerful leaders in both parties when necessary – to work tirelessly for lower taxes, smarter, less anti-competitive regulations and policies that reduce big government’s control over our lives in order to unleash the full economic potential of every family in America.”

  1. Now that Sanguinetti is out this endorsement hurts her more than helps her.

I mean what is Club going to spend on this race in an expensive Chicago market when they have better pickup opportunities in OKlahoma, New Mexico, South Carolina and elsewhere.

    She has real strategy issues.

  2. Maybe they won’t spend anything. Sometimes groups just endorse people.

It doesn’t cost anything to endorse someone.

And even if they do spend money on this district, how does that prove SHE has strategy issues? Wouldn’t the strategy issue be on Club Fur Growth for wasting money?

I do agree with you on there being other more winnable contests.
