IL-14: Sue Rezin Questions House Democrats Priority of Passage of USMCA

From Rezin for Congress:

HOUSE DEMOCRATS ONLY PASSED USMCA AFTER IMPEACHMENT

“The interests of real people had to wait for partisan indulgence”

GURNEE, IL… The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement on trade (USMCA) was finally passed yesterday by the House of Representatives. This comes only after the House voted to impeach the President–which proves that partisan-driven impeachment held up the interests of the people.

Only when House Democrats got impeachment finished did they get around to something that affects real people’s wages for the better.

Both farmers and manufacturing workers will benefit greatly—and so will the communities where they do business. This was held up for 15 months by House Democrats at a time when it would have provided greater economic stability while our nation fought unfair trade practices by China.

If not for President Trump, no one else as President would have undertaken renegotiating NAFTA. From Day One as President, Donald Trump pushed hard for a better deal. It was he and he alone insisting on the renegotiation and Democrats looked down on him for doing so. They thought he was reckless.

But they also thought President Reagan was reckless when in a major address in Britain he prophetically said the Soviet Union would soon be on the “ash heap of history.” They ridiculed Reagan as a delusional old man who was going to get us into a nuclear war.

Instead he achieved the first nuclear arms agreement that didn’t just freeze arms levels but actually cut them back substantially, all the while he put astronomical new levels of relentless pressure on the Soviet Union that led directly to its disintegration.

Democrats in Congress were wrong then, and they are wrong now to have condemned President Trump’s relentless insistence to get a better NAFTA.

Trade between the USA, Canada and Mexico is existential to prosperity for the American people. It’s about freedom and prosperity.

In short, it’s big.

But House Democrats have a history of getting the biggest things absolutely wrong. They don’t see wisdom when it hits them over the head.

House Democrats and Lauren Underwood have been wrong to delay USMCA ratification for the past year while they indulged in a partisan obsession of impeachment to overturn the 2016 election and stain President Trump’s legacy of a robust economy, peace abroad and real results for real people.

  1. She forgot to mention the rising national debt and rising budget deficit that gave the economy the boost.

  2. Sorry Sue but it’s called negotiating. And Nancy ate Trump’s lunch in the negotiation!

One last thing Sue. Save your fake outrage for Mitch McConnell:

“But McConnell has already said the Senate will likely not consider President Donald Trump’s signature trade deal until after the impeachment trial in January.”
