Lake County Right to Life Christmas Party

Candidates and Incumbents Celebrated Christmas with Lake County Right to Life on December 6.

With Christmas less than 2 1/2 days away, many organizations have celebrated their Christmas parties this month.

Lake County Right to Life is no exception, whose Christmas party was celebrated on December 6 at J & D’s Bar and Grill in Wauconda.

And what would a Holidays social gathering be without politicians, candidates and incumbents alike, attending.

Bonnie Quirke and State Senator Dan McConchie

Lake County Right to Life Executive Director Bonnie Quirke (pictured right) co-founded the organization back in 1973.

Given the importance of Right to Life within a Republican primary, several Republicans who will be on McHenry County ballots in March attended.

Jeanne Ives and Val Ramirez Mukherjee

6th congressional district Republican candidate Jeanne Ives attended the event.

In the pic to the left, she is joined by 10th congressional district Republican challenger Val Ramirez Mukherjee.

Both women are trying to flip Democratic-held congressional seats, with Ives challenging Sean Casten, and Ramirez Mukherjee challenging incumbent Brad Schneider.

Ted Gradel and Glenn Gearamoni

The 14th district was not left out of this event, as Republican Ted Gradel attended and made the rounds.

Many, either in-person or through his “On Life” video, have heard Gradel’s passionate story about being adopted at birth.

Since the publication of the “On Life” video, Gradel’s campaign following has grown significantly, given he has put to rest all questions concerning his stance on Right to Life

Mark Curran

U.S. Senate candidate, and former 3-term Lake County Sheriff Mark Curran, attended the holiday festivities in Wauconda earlier this month.

Curran faces four opponents in the Republican primary, and thus far he is the closest to an establishment candidate as possible given none of the Senate candidates are known statewide.

Curran appears to have been the only Republican candidate in attendance.

Ives and Chris Kasperski

Another of many candidates in attendance was Chris Kasperski, the Republican challenger in the 31st legislative district currently held by Democrat State Senator Melinda Bush.

Given the changes in Lake County demographics, particularly in the 31st district, Kasperksi faces an uphill climb in his effort to unseat Bush.

Lake County Board Member Dick Barr was in attendance, as he is posing in pic to left with 10th district Republican hopeful Ramirez Mukherjee, 2018 10th district Republican nominee Doug Bennett, and Ted Gradel.

After the first of the year, the 2020 Republican primary campaign will begin in earnest, with early voting set to begin on February 6th.

Lake County Right to Life Christmas Party — 3 Comments

  1. There is a right to life chapter in this county.

I don’t think they do much, but they may do an annual pig roast and they have a website.

I’m guessing Curran was the only Republican who showed up not because he’s the only pro-life Republican but because he was the only one who knew about the event.

    Curran is from Lake County.

Funny how Val is there after she went on Fox News and said social issues don’t matter.

Val doesn’t live in the tenth district either.

A few years ago that district used to be competitive, switching back and forth from Democrat to Republican, and now you can’t even find a Republican who lives in the district.

Mark Shaw, the Chairman of Lake County GOP and the Chairman of the Republican County Chairmen Association, has been a DISASTER.
