Erik Sivertsen Gets Lump of Coal for Christmas

Veteran public official Erik Sivertsen has run successfully for the McHenry Grade School Board and unsuccessfully for the McHenry County College Board.

He even beat back a court challenge from the McHenry County State’s Attorney’s Office trying to prevent him from running for both the MCC Board and School District 15.

None of those times has he had the problem he faced this year when the now-Chairman of the McHenry County Republican Party filed petitions for the McHenry County Board.

He needed 69 good signatures.

Not heeding long-standing advice that candidates should get many more than the minimum number of required signatures, Sivertsen submitted only three over the required number.

McHenry County Board Chairman Jack Franks’ parade driver and fake Republican candidate against now-State Representative Steve Reick, Jeffrey Lichte, filed the petition complaint.

That leaves on the ballot

  • elected incumbent Kay Bates
  • Franks appointed incumbent Stephen  Doherty

No Democrat filed for the office, but the Party can nominate one or two candidates through a caucus.

  1. That’s bc he’s a shill for Franks.

He’s not Republican if he extols Franks and trashes Trump.

  2. Veteran public idiot. He is a liar and fake. Lives with mommy & daddy in the basement where he trolls FB.

Thinks he’s a wise one, but just a fool.

  3. He did make some sense on the school board, but the haters gotta hate.

He tried to bring common sense to the GOP and the fascists like Bob Anderson & his crew.

But the GOP haters swallowed him up.

  4. Sivertsen dreamed he would be a Township Supervisor or County Board loafer.

Now his dreams are dashed and his “Really, really BIG plans’ are trashed.
