When the signs prohibiting guns went up on doors of my Crystal Lake Methodist Church, it seemed like poor judgment.
Every time our Deputy Sheriff attended, squad car parked near the door, I’d tell him I felt safer.
I understand some of our members even complained about his attending wearing his uniform and gun.
Now comes a story out of Texas in which armed members of a small congregation with 250 worshipers shot and killed a man who started shooting.
One church member, who worked as a security guard, was one who drew his gun.
He was killed by the gunman.
Another man died after being taken to a hospital.
Regional Director of the Texas Department of Public Safety observed that he and other “heroic parishioners who stopped short of just anything that you can even imagine, saved countless lives…”
He said the shooting was over in six seconds.
Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn said, “Today evil walked boldly among us, But let me remind you, good people raised up and stopped it before it got worse.”
At least that church was not a “Protection Free Zone.”
It’s so horrible. The screaming people. Those poor families.
Guns should not be prohibited.
If there was ever a case for guns this it.
There were 4 armed men in the church and 3 were killed instantly, including the shooter.
It all went down in less than 6 seconds.
Don’t be foolish people.
The founding Fathers supported the rights of the people to defend themselves.

I have spoken with many law abiding Democrats that share our beliefs “that a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with one.”
In fact, down state dems prevented Madigan from adding abusive requirements on the FOID and CC card holders.
But they will bring up these attempts again and again until they get their way.
This is why you need to pass and sign the petition drive for adding the Referendum question on the fall ballot that asks,
“Shall McHenry County stand as a Pro Second Amendment County that protects lawful gun owners from unconstitutional laws passed by the Illinois General Assembly?”
Nothing more enjoyable than a shootout at a church, it’s what Sunday’s should be about!

The security guy who hesitated to draw and so was shot by the first black man, then the four white parishioners who shot the original black man who had ended his argument by shooting the second black man and the security guard. Three dead. Seven armed men within a few seconds. You will never hear the straight story told by the media. A predominately white church that thought they could stop thugs from acting like thugs by using a silly sign caused the whole thing. Two thugs and a “security guard” are dead.
