IL-14: Jim Oberweis Spending January 14 Raising Money with Pardoned 1st Lieutenant Clint A. Lorance — 13 Comments

  1. Incredible, Milk Shake Jim is running with a murderer.

He would be better off having a fund raiser with his cows.

  2. I’m a vet, and if there was any chance Oberweis would get my vote, it’s gone now.

I won’t even give him a second look.

Serving dishonorably has implications, even if pardoned.

  3. Clint A. Lorance was the victim of the Obama administration who are ISIS sympathizers!

You people thinking it’s disgusting having him at a Republican event are the ones who are disgusting.

  5. This guy, Oberweis, does not hang out with the cream of the crop.

  6. Jim, I appreciate that you replied but I am far from convinced.

The Fox News interview did nothing to explain how nine members of his team came out against him.

I was an NCO. I know how this works. And I have participated in a courts martial process.

Certain facts of the case are distractions and not relevant to his apparently-faulty decision making.

Was the punishment extreme given the conditions of war? Perhaps.

    Is he a patriot?

    Clearly.

But as to his innocence, it’s not generals who found him guilty, not a presidential pardon that declares him not guilty.

His broad-brushed statement regarding all generals shows a lack of dignity and respect which may have been part of the original problem.

I suppose it makes for a good photo op for you since it’s Trump, who I will be voting for, pardoned him.

Sharing the Fox News clip shows to me a concerning lack of discernment regarding your choice of authoritative info, and of an understanding of the military justice system.

  7. Wow – JimO really screwed this up.

This guy is the epitome of a scum bag that makes our flag look bad – just like the President.

Looks like another losing campaign for JimO on the horizon – sad!

  8. Maybe Oberweis did this because he’s been having some difficulty capturing the Trump Republicans and some of his opponents have been making the case that they’re more Trump friendly.

This could be like right-wing virtue signaling from Oberweis.

  9. Correcting (10:31am), you could be right but remember Oberweis brought those concerns among Trump supporters upon himself.

One good example, his 12-page mailer Oberweis sent out back in October where he did not once mention President Trump by name.

Overall, there will be more positives for Oberweis on the 14th, & combined with what should be a decisive FEC filing that is due the following day, Oberweis will get good press.

Oberweis would be smart to release his FEC 4th quarter report late Monday to have some additional fresh headlines to complement the events on the 14th.
