COMMENTARY: Of many intangibles for Republican primary voters to weigh is how will a prospective nominee quickly respond to the news of the day, whether something Congresswoman Lauren Underwood says/does, or something like decisive action by President Trump, as was the case here.
With social media, candidates can respond much faster, and such a rapid response will be needed during the 7 1/2 months a nominee will be sharing a stage with the Democrat Underwood.
As of 2:20AM CST Friday morning on January 3, Lauf and Marter were the only 14th district Republican candidates to weigh-in on the strike in Iraq.
