Allen Skillicorn Files as Alternate Delegate for President Trump

Looks like McHenry County Blog in the zeal to cover the delegates and alternate delegate slates for President Trump, missed something given we only focused on the 6th and 14th congressional districts.

Understandable, given McHenry County is within one of those two districts that the filing of State Representative Allen Skillicorn as an alternate delegate for President Trump was missed.

Skillicorn was listed in POLITICO Illinois Playbook, which returned today after a two weeks holiday break. The Illinois State Board of Elections website confirms the filing from Thursday morning of last week:

Looks like Skillicorn will be at the convention in Charlotte this summer for the renomination of President Trump and Vice President Pence.

While no one in McHenry County will see Skillicorn’s name on the ballot as an alternate delegate since he’s in the 8th congressional district, Skillicorn being on the delegate slate reminds one of the article Cal published in late September concerning Skillicorn’s interest in national politics.

What bearing, if any, Skillicorn’s alternate delegate position for President Trump has in his election to keep his 66th district state representative seat is unknown.

But congratulations are in order for Skillicorn on his selection as part of the 8th district’s delegate/alternate delegate slate for President Trump.
