Ives Campaign Has Support from All Branches of the Party

Cook County Republican Party Chairman Endorses Jeanne Ives for Congress

January 10, 2020  – Jeanne Ives, Republican candidate for Congress (IL-06), has been endorsed by Sean Morrison, Chair of the Cook County Republican Party.

“In 2020, Cook County voters are confronting the revelations of deeply rooted corruption in local government,” said Morrison. “Voters are looking for candidates they can trust. In the IL-06 race, only Jeanne Ives has a record of standing up to corrupt insiders and powerful party leaders, as well as unapologetically advancing government reform and transparency legislation. I know Jeanne’s resolve and understand her principles. That’s why I am endorsing Jeanne Ives, and encouraging Cook County voters to look past headlines to get to know her real record.”

Morrison joins Republican National Committeewoman Demetra Demonte, Lake County Republican Party (chaired by ILGOP Co-Chair Mark Shaw), Club for Growth, the House Freedom Caucus, FreedomWorks, Susan B. Anthony List and Former IL-06 Congressman Peter Roskam in formally endorsing Ives.

Rich Porter, Illinois Republican National Committeeman has also thrown support behind Ives in her 2020 race. And the entire Illinois’ Republican Congressional Delegation were recently joined by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy in hosting a fundraiser for Ives in Washington DC.

  1. So this just means it’s going to be embarrassing for all Branches of the party when she gets destroyed in November.

  2. So I know she’s trying to show how she has different elements/factions within the GOP supporting her and that should be good because it shows party unity, but it’s just really hard for me to see how endorsements by Roskam, Morrison, and Shaw could be viewed as a positive to ANYBODY.

  3. Correcting, I get the feeling the Roskam endorsement included his donor list, which explains why Ives raised a little over $340K in the 3rd quarter.

Curious to hear her 4th quarter results, and she hasn’t released her receipts early like she did with 3rd quarter.

  4. Lopez – It is telling that, as you point out, she hasn’t released her Q4 numbers yet when she was quick too in Q3.

Every candidate’s first quarter in is the race is usually their best because they get all their base donor support, so it’s not going to be a question of how whether her numbers fell but how much.

If she is above 200k I’d say thats a pretty good haul.

If she’s below that, with her burn rate, look out, could get ugly with the pace of Casten’s fundraising.

  5. FLamont, please spare us the drama queen theatrics and stick to your baby food.
