  1. Nice quote by her today in the paper.

“Much of the work we do is based on public perception, and I do not feel that it is appropriate to speak about creating a model ethics ordinance when questionable ethics are among us.

“I will be recommending we address moving forward only with what is mandated by the state at this time.” -Carolyn Schofield

    That makes no sense.

Jack Franks has ethics problems so McHenry County Board can’t discuss eliminating mileage reimbursement?

How does one follow the other?

How the heck could she multitask with issues in Springfield when there are constant ethical and legal violations by our government?

Voting present on whether voters should have a referendum or not is also pretty cowardly and politically expedient.

Finally, bragging about Skala and Althoff endorsing you?

    Big yikes

  2. Correcting, given your comment in other article about Jim Malone being the most normal of the four, what are we 66th district voters to do?

  3. She was terrible on the Crystal Lake City Council.

Never prepared. Ran in at the last minute and was obvious she did not check her packet and study it before the meeting.

    Terrible County Board member.

    NOT really a Republican.

  4. None of them are Republicans any more.

This County is so Blue, it could start its own Blue Man Group.

the only thing red is one guys face.

  5. Althoff endorsement?

    You kiddin’ me.

That’s like a Hillary or Romney endorsement!

    Go Skillicorn!

    Take out the trash!

  6. I’ll vote for Skillicorn for his Pro-Life stance, his 1st & 2nd amendment stances as well. Skillicorn has our back and he does not take union money!

I would have more respect for Carolyn if she said-

“we will continue to do the work of the county board without questionable Chairman Franks.

    “He can stay home.

“The committees should hold their meetings and vote.

“County Board meetings should be run by vice chairman Skala now until the investigation of Franks is over”

Now that would have garnered respect!

And her endorsement(s) are not good ones.

  7. That’s kind of a complicated question, John.

There are many variables and each person is going to have different inputs.

How much do you value electability?

How much do you value agreeing on issues?

Where do you stand on issues?

What do you think of “getting things done” vs opposing bad laws?

Is being not normal a liability or an asset or not even worth considering?

    Do you care about endorsements?

    Whose endorsements?

Depending on your views, that’s going to determine who’s the best fit for you.

It’d be difficult for me to say what THEY should do because THEY is plural and people have different values and opinions.

  8. Correcting, given Skillicorn’s recent actions & inactions, I value honesty & integrity above all else.

Lately Skillicorn has not been showing those two important traits, and more has been found that questions his honesty & integrity just this week.

  9. Step right up!

For a thin dime you can query the Great OZ, John Lopez, he knows all, sees all and is a prophet!

  10. Off the top of my head, I don’t have any examples of Carolyn lying, but I haven’t followed her work too closely either.
