From a story in the February 4, 2020, edition of the publication that covers local crime better than any other:
State police executed a search warrant this week at Illinois House Speaker Michael Madigan’s Capitol offices as part of their investigation into sexual misconduct and other allegations against former state rep. and McHenry County Board chairman Jack Franks.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that a search warrant was obtained as “probable cause exists for the crimes of
- criminal sexual abuse,
- criminal sexual assault,
- official misconduct,
- stalking and
- aggravated battery.”
Franks denied any wrongdoing when contacted by both the Northwest Herald and the Sun-Times. No charges have been filed by state police, who have refused to release any information on the investigation.
