Just Another Day in Chicago

The Chicago Tribune posts this photo of a store door “on East 71st Street between Michigan Avenue and Wabash Avenue after a store clerk was shot in an attempted armed robber.”

People asked if Omar, “known for extend[ing] credit to those who were short of money was injured.”

“Omar got shot,” some would say.

And then there was disbelief: “They shot Omar?!?

Mohammed I. Maali died at the hospital.

This is so sad.

The four attempted robbers were captured. Omar shot two.

  1. Title for this story is true.

    Does not matter whether summer or winter, crime goes on in that big city near our McHenry County.

    But, in the last 10 years or so, seems like more of Chicago type crime is coming to the suburbs near Chicago and to towns in McHenry County.

  2. 97% of slain black men are slain by other black men, and about .05% of those are slain by black policemen.

    Yes, I know about the recent black lady who shot the 3 black state troopers at the cigar joint. But that don’t change a thing!
