When I had my long and civil conversation with Democratic State Rep. candidate Peter Janko at the McHenry County Fair, he was sitting in the Bernie Sanders tent.
Janak made Chicagoland news by being the only Democratic Party State Central Committeeperson elected who refused to vote for Mike Madigan’s re-election as Chairman.
Now, old line Democratic leaders are in panic that Sanders will win their party’s Presidential nomination.
So, with Janko running against Brian Sager, who besides being Woodstock Mayor, was
- a Republican Precinct Committeeman until he did the honorable thing and resigned after endorsing Democrat Jack Franks for County Board Chairman in 2016 and
- an Alternate GOP National Convention Delegate for Mitt Romney ,
my question is whether local Democrats will hand Janko a victory, as they did Bernie Sanders four years ago in McHenry County.
Why isn’t Shepley running for higher office instead of shuffling around in his loafers at Crystal Lake’s City Hall for two decades?
A friend told me he’s the Northwest Herald’s new Jimmy Olson taking pictures and reporting on high school sports!
I guess that’s actually a step up in my opinion.

Interesting that Janko supports Bernie Sanders. Bernie had been an Independent and an avowed socialist with a crazy and reckless agenda. Bernie is a nut-job who had sympathized with socialist/commie nations and had honeymooned with his wife in the U.S.S.R. in the late 1980’s.
The most dangerous idea of Bernie, and Janko, is Medicare for All which would totally eliminate the private medical insurance market. This would especially be bad for many union members whose unions had fought hard over the decades to get great “Cadillac” type health insurance plans for their members. Janko indicates he is for “Working Families”. Apparently not for Union Member Working Families.
What does “Authentic” Democrat mean? Allegiance to national level Democrats who have had an ongoing campaign to overthrow the Administration of Donald Trump? A vindictive and fanatical desire to destroy Trump? Is that what “Authentic” means? Does Janko disavow the shenanigans and recklessness of Pelosi, Schumer, Durbin, Schiff, etc?
“Authentic” Democrat means he wants his piece of the Illinois pie.
Sure he will, and Brian Sager will have his face daubed w/ mud.
Then the wino-RINO (Reick) will finish off Panko in a political hit-and-run!
What happened to my professor’s prediction about Biden being our six-times bankrupt and sexual-assaulter-in-chief inevitable rival next November? Perhaps it is evident again this right wing fanatic has absolutely no clue about politics and can only parrot Fox News extreme talking points. Now the attacks come after Bernie Sanders, the candidate I’ve telling you for months will steamroll to the Democratic Party nomination. Janko is an “Authentic” Democrat, as distinct from the Republican mayor of Woodstock, who is the “phony “ Democrat.
That explains Janko’s slogan.
Makes perfect sense to those who understand Sager’s past affiliations.

Saw Bernie Sanders supporter and far left wing radical extremist Democrat US Rep AOC from NY talking to imbecile Joy Behar on the View. Briefly watched the show. The only smart, honest, level headed and logical co-host on this show is Megan, the daughter of John McCain.
Perhaps those supporting the radical, extreme, socialist views/positions of Bernie should consider migrating to Russia, Cuba or Venezuela. Rather than screwing up the U.S., they can live there in their socialist/communist utopia.
