Chuck Wheeler Says Board Has No Tolerance for Bullying, People Being “Yelled at or Sexually Assaulted”

Chuck Wheeler addressed the final part of his remarks at the McHenry County Board meeting last week to county employees:

“Finally, a word to all our employees, staff and elected officials.

“You are all the most asset of this County.

“We the Board cherish what you do and respect your rights to be treated fairly with dignity and respect.

“We have a duly elected Auditor, HR Director and Ethics Commission
who are there to make sure you are treated with respect you deserve.

Jack Franks in his “I’m in charge” mode.

“No one should tolerate being bullied yelled at or sexually assaulted.

“If you feel you have been unfairly treated or you have witnessed fraud waste or abuse, please, please report it to the appropriate official.

“No one on this county board wants to see any of our employees or the county taken advantage of.

“While I am on the topic of our elected Auditor, I wanted to alert the public and this board that recently we have been told by the Democratic Chairman Franks that the County Auditor is old and antiquated and should be replaced.

“The Chairman suggested that in his infinite wisdom that he could appoint an inspector general to replace this function and protect our county.

“He touted that this would assure we would get a ‘qualified person’ who would report to the administrator any wrong doing.

“So, and who would investigate the administrator for wrongdoing?

“I’m not sure, who would investigate the Chairman, not sure.

“Recently, I heard revelations by our inspector generals in Springfield.

” Legislative Inspector General, who is appointed by Democratic
Speaker Madigan is supposed to open investigations, issue subpoenas, and publish reports about our lawmakers’ illegal antics.

“However, they cannot do any of the above-mentioned activities without the permission of— guess who? — a panel of eight of specially appointed
lawmakers!

“According to news reports, the previous Inspector General described her job as ‘a waste of time.’

“I’ll bet that a similar plan is in the works for a Franks Inspector General who will report to a Special Ad Hoc Committee made up of the usual Franks enablers that will maintain his status quo.

“This proposal along with several other items needs to slow down.

“Enough is enough.

“This concludes my remarks Democratic Chairman Franks.”

  1. My opinion would be that the panel involve 9 citizens drawn randomly.

All retired professionals (Cops, Judges, Teachers, Doctors, et al.) who would not be beholden to the King and his merry men, not Board Members and their friends.

The only compensation would be a per diem when in action.

Notice I left out lawyers, they tend to screw things up when they are included.

Call it the Administrative Grand Jury and a majority vote would carry action.

  2. Your message might resonate better, if you hadn’t portrayed the Public Sector as some kind of selfless servant class.

In as much as the only home a County Resident can now afford in taxes, is a 1940 $12,000 Craftsman Bungalow, ordered from the Sears Catalog.

  3. The only reason he wants to get rid of the auditor is because she stands up to him.

  4. DJ is spot on.

Why are these county board turds asleep behind the wheel, always years late and millions short?

The county employees- public servants get fat pensions they couldn’t get in the real world.

Yet Wheeler and his ilk kneel before them and Jack Franks.

No spines. That’s why our taxes are so damn high.

  5. It’s about time people started to speak up about Jack Franks.

Jack Franks bad behavior has been going on for months and perhaps years.

He has issues, that need to be resolved.

Normal people don’t go around bullying and intimidating others.

  6. No Sobleski, our taxes are so damn hight because of the schools.

70% of your taxes go toward schools.

They don’t cut spending, consolidate, and the raises are ridiculous (even for retired teachers raises in pensions is absurd.

DALA it’s clear it’s been going on for decades.

  7. DALA. Do you think Jack’s bad behavior got him sente home from Springfield and “retirement” sounded better?

  8. Moderate Harley, you must be a municipal or county employee—— or a township troll.

Sure the schools rip us off blind.

    But you’re all bad!

  9. Keep it up C.Wheeler your doing great…

Transparency … is what we need…

not rats who run and bury their heads.

  10. When are people going to realize that the biggest problem is with the State!

They don’t pay their bills to the schools, cities, towns, roads etc.!

Pensions are the single biggest issue this State has! Whether it is state, local, townships, schools and elected officials! Fix that and the state would be salvageable!

So the people that are running as Dems, and Republicans that are really Dems, quit running for a State or Local candidate.

If you don’t have a backbone to stand up for anything step down!

Which are most school boards, almost all County Board members, and any other taxing board that oversees pensions!

  11. Why M, is Wheeler a ‘hypocrite’ …. you may right, but ad hominems won’t substitute for facts with me.

Maybe you’re the true hypocrite, M, and you’re just projecting!
