With incumbent State Rep. Allen Skillicorn boycotting the Chicago Sun-Times Editorial Board interview, the paper has endorsed challenger Carolyn Schofield, a member of the McHenry County Board.

Schofield understands that legislators do the public a disservice when they cling desperately to their end of the political spectrum, yet leave big problems to fester.

Voters looking for a staunch conservative with impressive credentials would be well advised to look past the incumbent, state Rep. Allen Skillicorn, and choose challenger Carolyn Schofield.
They can rest assured that Schofield strongly supports the 2nd Amendment, insists on curbing government spending and opposes the state’s proposed progressive income tax. Plus, Schofield has a wealth of experience as a public servant on the McHenry County Board, the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning and other governmental bodies.
At the same time, Schofield understands that legislators do the public a disservice when they cling to absolutist positions at all costs. Big problems — and Illinois has plenty — don’t get solved by saying “no” over and over. Skillicorn, for example, most recently stuck to his “no new taxes” stand, even to the point of voting against a motor fuel tax hike that would finance desperately needed road projects in his own district.
Schofield is the better choice in this race.
Wow, they practically came out and said they favor her for her Liberalism!
That’s a ringing endorsement for Skillicorn’s Conservatism.
At least they were honest.
Skillicorn probably knew he wouldn’t get their endorsement as the questions were way above his head.
Just like his page, if he doesn’t like your remarks, he deletes them and won’t let you return.
This is illegal, but it makes him look good.

Look, anybody who brags about having the largest chia pet collection in the nation, should be barred from any public office.
Her all-time favorite chia pets: Abraham Lincoln and Obama!

It does kinda figure tho.
I had a chia pet when I was in grade school.
It was great and cool for awhile but then the thing suddenly died and I was VERY careful about watering, sun, fertilizer, etc.
I got it for Xmas and it had sprouted great, but was dead around Easter.
Like overnight!
I was heartbroken, and tried to revive it, but all it ever did was stink to high heaven.
It was a chia teddy bear.

So far Schofield has Chia Pets – really, no she does not.
Schofield was accused of being in Lane Bryant with a 100 shoes around her.
That one, I must say, is quite hilarious.
If anyone knew Schofield, Lane Bryant doesn’t have clothes small enough for her and she has never shopped there.
