IL-14: Question I Would Ask in Huntley Monday Night

Which Republican candidate refutes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) most effectively with the truth when she invoked faith in Jesus in LGBTQ discussion last week

Monday night in Huntley is the final public candidates’ forum before the Republican primary on March 17.

Last Thursday at a Committee on Oversight and Reform hearing, Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) brought up her faith in Christ in the context of the Trump Administration rolling back LGBTQ rights within the Administration.

Her little over 3 1/2 minutes speech video is here:

The question I’d ask of all seven Republican congressional candidates in the 14th district, is to refute her argument, and within the context of the topic of LGBTQ rights. Remember, the House, with Lauren Underwood’s support, passed the Equality Act last May, so the Republican nominee will be running against Underwood’s support of the Equality Act.

Yes, it’s easy to pierce through AOC’s invoking Scripture on a clear social issue like Right to Life, but since the context is LGBTQ rights, apply Scritpure accurately, to the LGBTQ discussion at hand.

Could the nationally known “anti-AOC” candidate, Catalina Lauf, match wits with AOC, the woman who indirectly and unknowingly helped bring Lauf to national prominence late last summer? Where does Catalina Lauf stand on faith, as she has made no public statement about it?

How about the “man of God”, as Jerry Evans referred to himself in his press release Friday rebuking Congresswoman Underwood for a vote against born-alive abortion survivors?

How about the former Catholic priest, Anthony Catella? His “order with justice under law” leadership position should apply here, and he definitely knows the Scriptures.

How about Jim Oberweis, James Marter, Ted Gradel and Sue Rezin, all Catholics, how would they respond (both Millennials, Evans and Lauf are Protestants/non-Catholics)?

  1. How can you call this cupcake a nationally known anti-AOC candidate?

Most people in her hometown of Woodstock never heard of her.

And really, given the nature of comments on this blog, do you really think anyone gives a flip about her thoughts about God?

  2. While Ms. Lauf’s is 5 months off of her high of being a “national” candidate, getting an interview on Hannity on FOX News is something none of the other 14th district candidates have done.

With all the evangelical Christians who back President Trump I am sure there are more than a few like me who want to see all the candidates take on AOC in this fight.

  3. I don’t think AOC will stand a chance of being reelected,
she’s pissed off Nancy . . . revenge is a dish best served cold
