IL-14: Chris Lauzen Goes After Jim Oberweis

Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen, a Board Chairman who does not have a County Administrator to do all the work, sent the following with regard to the 14th District Republican congressional primary:

 “The Milk Dud” Indeed

This letter is meant for Republicans who intend to vote in the March 17, 2020 14th Congressional Primary.

Please do not allow Jim Oberweis to “buy” yet another Republican Primary with his personal, unassailable millions of dollars . . . only to get crushed again after six (6) failures, by his Democrat opponent in the 2020 General Election.

Of course, he’s free to spend his inherited ice cream and earned pharmaceutical companies and Chinese investment money in any way he wishes.

However, you and I should have better sense than to continue losing General Elections because he buys the Primaries with your vote.

If you didn’t like what Rauner did to the Republican Party with his $60 Million and political incompetence; if you don’t like what Pritzker is doing to Illinois government with his $170 Million and extreme liberal policies; then why would you allow another rich, old guy to do it to you again in the 14th Congressional Primary?

There will be some who say,

“Chris, you’re just sore that he spent $3.6M to slime your family in the 2008 Republican Primary.”

I guess I would agree with them; however, 2020 is very different for all of us.

Unlike the past, this time Oberweis won’t have a powerful Denny Hastert to endorse him and to legitimize his inordinate spending.

“Coach Denny” has been disgraced and labelled by one judge as a “serial child molester”.

He and Oberweis make quite the pair of politicians.

And, in 2020, even Oberweis will not be profligate enough to triple the $1,000,000 he has already loaned his campaign to match 2008.

Chris Lauzen

If any Republican thinks that what I write is too harsh, then you really have no accurate idea what the Democrats and their fawning handmaidens in the establishment media will unload against the candidate whom they have already labelled “The Milk Dud”.

They’ll make mincemeat out of him and our chances to win back that congressional seat.

But the very clever “Milk Dud” does save on his spouse’s portion of Illinois income tax.

As a Florida resident, Oberweis’ own wife won’t be voting for Jim, so why should you?

Let’s give ourselves a fighting chance in November!

Chris Lauzen

Former Illinois State Senator, Current Kane County Board Chairman

IL-14: Chris Lauzen Goes After Jim Oberweis — 18 Comments

  1. Obviously, there is no love lost between Kane County Board Chairman Chris Lauzen and Jim Oberweis.

So, is Lauzen going to openly endorse a candidate in the 14th district Republican primary?

    Who would/should he endorse?

    – Sue Rezin? Has the best chance to beat Oberweis. Rezin and overlapped as state senators for the 97th General Assembly, and one month of the 96th. He is sounding several themes Rezin does in her campaign, but he didn’t endorse her, at least not yet.

    – Ted Gradel? Prior to running for Congress, Gradel’s only known political involvement was donating to then State Senator Michael Connelly’s campaign in 2014.

    – Catalina Lauf? Doubt he knows a woman who was born during Lauzen’s first term in Springifield. Given Lauzen blasts Bruce Rauner, doubtful he’d support a former Rauner reelection campaign staffer for nearly all of 2018 and paid nearly $45k

    – Jerry Evans? Doubt there is a history between the two, apart from his volunteer work for Peter Roskam

    – James Marter? Circulated petitions for Lauzen’s now withdrawn reelection campaign, and while likely close to Lauzen on the issues, Lauzen wants to pick a winner, and Marter is not it

    – Anthony Catella? See call out for Marter.

At this point, call this news release from Lauzen an “independent expenditure” not colluded with any candidate.

    At least, not yet.

  2. It is clear that Lauzen does not want Oberweis to be the Republican nominee, but who does Lauzen want Republicans to vote for instead?

    Who does Lauzen support?

  3. I think we are all pretty savy in here of who All our Rinos are these days…

    i wouldn’t worry to much…

we would elect a monkey before we go with more of the samosamosamo do nothings…

    not for the people politicians…

    we are fed up..

  4. Good. moo boy can low with the other cash cows.

    He’s a phony baloney.

  5. Yeah on top of the outrageous amounts of money spent to Lose—“Coach Denny” endorsement long gone too.

Wonder if Moo visited him up in Minnesota while in the Fed Pen?

Gotta add this to the Campaign Finance News (bad moo’s) and start blasting to perspective voters.

Hot and Heavy bad moo’s these last weeks will put Moo Man back in the barn for sure.

  6. Rezin and Marter could fight against the Dems baby murdering candidate from getting re-elected.

Rezin has money and looks but she’s got baggage with bad votes.

Marter is very knowledgeable and energetic.

    He has Limited funds.

This is one tough crazy race.

  7. Excellent comments Mr. Lauzen!

I think the FEC scandal that is breaking is enough to tank Oberweis’ campaign even without everything else you bring up.

The funny thing is, Rezin brought it to light but no one in the 14th wants her, she’s a liberal!

She doesn’t even live in the 14th and voted for red flag laws, doubling the gas tax and supports the ERA, like we want our daughters playing former men on their high school sports teams. T

his isn’t want we’re looking for!

I think the big winner here is Marter.

The other four in the race want to “start at the top” with no real experience.

My caution to voters is that if you don’t know what you’re doing when you get to Congress, the Swamp will do the job for you.

Only Marter has a solid grasp of the issues and recognizes the seriousness of the role he’s running for.

He’s got great grassroots support too.

I don’t see any silly, cartoonish attack ads coming from his campaign.

He knows people are sick of that approach but if you’re brand new at this, you just don’t know any better.

A Marter win will send shockwaves around the country that right thinking people still have a voice and it’s getting louder here in Illinois.

  8. To say I am surprised by this post, not.

I have had my own issues with Obie.

I had asked the man twice in the past 9 years about why he had voted on a bill the way he did, and in both cases he told me I wouldn’t understand and walked away from me.

When he had visited out township meeting when running for Senate 3 1/2 yrs ago, he actually treated our chairwoman like garbage over a discussion on China.

He had said he has been there numerous times on business (little did I know at the time he had meant his Sec. Firm), and knew what he was talking about.

He has a definite conflict of interest with becoming a US Rep and his business.

I also find him to be a little like Bloomberg, buying all sorts of TV Advertising and he seems to hate women.

My vote went to James Marter on Tuesday.

    The only one I trust.

  9. Mr. Paul Hurst, actually James Marter is putting out trash in his one and likely only campaign mailer, and the comparison piece is such a piece of fiction lacking honesty and integrity, it’s not even worthy of an article.

Simple example: Asked if Ted Gradel had any involvement in the Republican Party.

Actually, he did contribute money to State Senator Michael Connelly back in 2014, which could have been found online and qualifies for his question.

No due diligence on Marter’s or his campaign’s part.

Then claiming Jerry Evans as a “weak” (soft) Republican though he’s lived and voted in DuPage County since the 2004 election cycle.

Evans moved into his current home in 2017, so only the 2018 election cycle is at his Warrenville address.

Yes, before, he lived outside of the district, but an omission lacking in honesty and integrity.

There are many others too numerous.

While I’m impressed Marter’s in 4th place in the poll just released, ahead of Ted Gradel and Evans and Anthony Catella, there’s no way he’ll go any higher, and Gradel has over $315K to burn in the next 10 days.

While I respect yours and everyone’s choice to vote for whomever you want in the Republican primary, be ready to support the winner, no matter whom, in the fall.

  10. Speaking of State Senator Sue Rezin, when she brought up at the Northwest Herald editorial board interview that Jim Oberweis had spent $15 million running for higher office, Oberweis said it was false.

Chris Lauzen proved Rezin right, assuming the numbers Lauzen posted are correct.

Given Lauzen’s CPA background, he’s meticulous about accuracy.

    Rezin was right.

  11. A vote for Rezin or ‘Mr. Moo’ now, will result in the election of Underweirdo in Nov.

    Marter can do it!

  12. Just got a robocall for Moo Idiot.

    How’d he get my number!

  13. Just noticed something on Lauzen’s fact sheet. For the years 2002, 2004 & 2006, it should say “Lost Primary Election”, which is what Oberweis did in those years.

The nominees who won those primaries went on to lose the general, and 2004 was the disaster when the primary winner had to be replaced, and state party chose Alan Keyes.
