IL-14: Jim Oberweis Responds to Illinois Conservatives PAC — 12 Comments

  1. Oberweis crying about a swamp?

    That’s where he dwells!

Vote for Jim Marter, the man who can’t be bought and has stuck with his conservative principals for 45 years!

He wont metamorphize into an ugly, lying RINO.

Yes, I will vote for Oberweis if he buys another primary, but that’s only because anybody would be better than the horror we now have.

  2. You don’t “set the record straight” by:

    A. Lying and saying “I am the only candidate with the record and resources necessary to beat Lauren Underwood.” Seriously? Oberweis has a record and litany of statements that Underwood would massively capitalize on. Because national Republicans believe Oberweis is such a profoundly damaged candidate he won’t attract any national money if he wins this nomination. And it’s a big joke that he will self fund. We’ve learned that in this primary. He puts money in for show in every one of his campaigns and then pays himself back.

    B. Oberweis cannot successfully answer $710,000 in TV ads that everyone is seeing regularly on TV with a YouTube video that no one but his strongest supporters will see.

He is sunk and just doesn’t realize he is already politically dead.

    C. I don’t feel sorry for him. He voted “present” on a bill he criticizes Rezin for voting for, and he praised the bill on the Senate Floor before that courageous “present” vote.

He also deceptively criticizes her for the bag tax which she voted against on the Senate Floor. What he is referring to was a unanimous procedural vote in committee–a committee of which he is also a member but was conveniently absent from that day.

Lying and bullying Jim Oberweis is now politically dying by the same way he conducts his own campaigns.

Arrogantly overconfident for months, he can’t believe victory that he was sure was his is being taken away from him.

How long before he moves to Florida to join his wife?

  3. Sheila,

On your point “B”, I believe the TV commercial released to YouTube this morning is part of a local TV ad buy.

Given he reported a cash on hand of $415K through 2/26 after paying himself back the $500K, one would think he needs a comparable ad buy as the Illinois Conservatives PAC.

We are watching the FEC site and am anticipating a Form 6 filing by Oberweis for more monies, but it hasn’t come across, yet.

If it does, it will be reported.

If it doesn’t, then we know Oberweis will deal with the Illinois Conservatives PAC with what he has, and his success will be determined.

  4. John, time will tell, but some people believe Obie’s wife won’t let him spend a good portion of that $400,000 in cash on hand and that it is earmarked to be repaid just like the earlier $500,000 was.

If that is the case then it has remained in his account for show until after the last reporting period deadline.

Just a thought I am passing on to you.

  5. Shiela, thank you for the insight.

We’ll know for certain by April 15, since that will be the day, win or lose, all candidates must file 1st quarter reports, which will show activity February 27 through March 31.

For most, it will be the last report to file to the FEC, and the nominee will continue filing through the end of the year, and possibly beyond.

  6. AM 560 interviewed 3 Republican candidates for Underwood’s seat this morning.

Rezin was invited but refused to participate.

What’s that about? What is she hiding from?

It’s a conservative talk radio station and she wants no part of it.

  7. Cal, it was Gradel, Lauf and Oberweis, in that order.

Will post the links to the three interviews.

  8. All republicans are skunks in the era of Trump.

Make the switch to an independent.
